Yup, an "Idol" contest to find the best university lecturer. Personally I think that the panels is biased in their backgrounds since they seem to have left out any science/engineering profs. I mean c'mon every one knows that Miroslav Lovric is da bomb!

How about the worst? I think I had a few of those, including in freshman physics 1B. He would say something in heavily-accented English that was incomprehensible, write something on the board related to the incomprehensible statement that was similarly incomprehensible, and then look exasperated when 200 science and pre-med majors would unite together and utter proudly with one unified glorious rich voice, "huh??"
None of those ones ring a bell to me, sorry *hides*
I did hear some of a taped lecture by Noam Chomsky and I liked his style, although I've never been crazy about his politics. He should just stick to government (linguistics joke).

I would say my tap teacher is the best prof/ lecturer.
She provides info about dance, history, dance theory......
She was Gene Kelly's [Singing in the Rain - Guy] niece and Fred Kelly's [Cha Cha CHa creater] daughter. She did her first professional show at 1. Became a certified professional dancer at 7 yrs. Taught her own classes at 12. Went to college with a scholarship at 18. Runs a full fledged Celiac drive that she has to go to washington for , she is always their for her studentsd and on top of that she is the most awsome teacher and friend i have met!

I had a church history professor in college that literally put himself to sleep lecturing while sitting at his desk. It was quite amuzing to watch.
Worst !!!

Hm. It isn't the first of April, so I guess I have to say that this is bizarre on many levels. I suppose, given that they actually had good professors, it could actually be very informational, depending upon what classes they teach.
When I first looked at this topic, I thought it was to be an actual television show featuring post-secondary lecturers that would be winnowed down to the best...

It's probably more realistic if you're familiar with TVOntario. They're really a very interesting (and usually very good) channel. I'll have to find out when
Big Ideas is actually on now an check it out.
As far as the 'worst prof' show I don't know how watchable it would be be. I remember that by the end of my 2nd year vector calculus course, it was an open question as to whether his English had improved or our French. I can't say much for Electronic Devices prof, or for may Materials science professors either.
