~ What's your dream in life?~

Hey guys,

I was wondering what your dreams are for your life and does your love of anime fit into it?

Mine: I want to learn as many languages as possible and go share Jesus to the world in their language. My theory is ... those who hear Jesus and his love in their native tongue are less likely to think you are forcing them to become like your culture.

How anime fits: I am going to school to be a Graphics designer for web pages and i truely love drawing so i want to use my graphics experience to create awesome artworks[including anime] with programs like Photoshop, Corel Painter 9, ..... and many more. I want to design my father's story books for children.

How they Fit: With my knowledge of languages and computers , i want to go to Cambodia and join the Four Square Church of Cambodia and open a computer commons so that i can give the Khmer people an oppurtunity to talk to their families[all over the world] and open the door for witnessing.

My dream in life really only goes right now as far as finding the right girl.

I wnat to be a history professur. I have 2 BA's. I just need to revise my senior paper--which I was told would be good to submit with my grad school application with a little tweaking-- I need to improve my japanese skills, and pay off my University bill so they will give me my Diploma and my transcripts. This might take me a while. heh. But eventually I will get it done. =)

Oh earlier I forgot to say that I want to focus on Japanese history. Which was inspired by watching Kenshin. =)

First of all, I want to get out retail permanately. Then, I would like to be an interpreter for a little while. Several years after that, I'd like to get into the game industry.

I could say "become a doctor", but that sounds too much like my PARENTS' dream for my life. I want to be a master in Arnis because I think it's cool and I think the Chinese and Japanese have had enough time in the martial arts spotlight. Related to anime? Well, how about a master stick fighter anime for once?

I would also like to be always happy like this Image.

My dream? It might sound silly to some... but I really feel like I need to draw Christian comic books for CHilderen.. Or maybe become an animator... Possibly even an author... but my dream is to use what talents I may have to further God's Glory..because without him.. I wouldn't be the person or artist that I am today.

I want to try a little bit of everything. Some techno mixing, some animating, some comics with a wide-range of styles and somehow integrate morals or christianity into those.

how anime fits in, well DUH. Anime has influenced so much of my style and design.

Dream
First, I'd like to not be alone. I am not talking about a girlfriend/wife or anything like that, just to have a close friend to talk to and all of that.
My second part is to be able to work with animation. I'm not talking about making anime, I love all forms of animation. I wouldn't mind working with something anime-esque, though.
I would also enjoy working with music.

How anime fits in
Friendship is a common theme in anime.
And I suppose my animating style and art style has been greatly impacted by the anime series' I've watched.
The third part being music related. After the story, you have the art and music. I think too often the art is put way above music, whereas I believe them to be almost equally important. 51% art, 49% music and sound.

I want to be a published author. I mean, like books published. Multiple books.

There are more personal goals, as well.

I'm not sure if anime fits in, really.

My dream is to one day build my own custom cars, but that may be pretty far off. Realistically, if I get everything on this list I'll be happy.

1. Good job
2. Good friends
3. Nice house (not a huge one, something small and simple but well kept).
4. Someone to fall in love with
5. Fast car ;)
6. (most important one) To make heaven, and know without a doubt that I am saved.

So far I'm getting started on #2, I wonder if I'll ever get 1&3, #4 may just be around the corner, I should get #5 within a few years, and I wish I had the answer to #6.

My dream in life is to really make a difference and impact in the lives of others- mostly teens.

Another part of my dream to eventually get married to someone who has faith in Christ and has a kind loving nature.

If she likes anime, all the more better. :P

My dream is to play at the Budokan someday...but I'm not sure how that fits in with anime at all. And I would, like most single guys, like to marry my perfect woman...

Right now I have no dream in life.....I am fighting to stay alive right now.

Pleas don't feel sorry for me....I have to fight this on my own......as for my dream it will come to me one day.

Syaoran, you never have to fight somthing on your own. God is always there. I'll pray for you.

My dreams are to hmmmm......
Have a cool job working with electronics / programming computers in an awesome building in a desert location that monsoons.
Marry a awesome girl that loves Jesus.
Take a long vacation to Priene, turkey for no reason whatsoever.
And build an awesome house that is kind of wookie-like

How does anime fit in? not sure, but i've never been bored since i got into it and it would make great artwork for a modded computer case... Maybe some stylistic elements in my house will be unknowingly inspired by it...

Alice and Kazekami - publishing a book is not as hard as it seems. I do encourage you both to give it a go.

Syaoran - dude that sounds pretty serious. Anything we could help you out with?

Ingemar wrote:"I want to be a master in Arnis because I think it's cool and I think the Chinese and Japanese have had enough time in the martial arts spotlight."

There are many non-Asian martial artists around the world now .. so don't worry. :)

Any reason why you like Arnis in particular? I did Tae Kwon Do, but I felt Kung Fu would have been more balanced (the fist / kick ratio). Also, I still cannot do a ha-dou-ken. I've been trying to years. LOL.

My dreams:
[1] I had wanted to be some kind of leader of a nation, but when I got older I realised that was rather naive as I lacked the necessary knowledge / experience.

[2] Am thinking about doing philosophy after I finish my grad. dip. in theology. But yeh, I think I will take a break first.

[3] Want to stop procrastinating and start drawing my comic (I have most of the ideas and characters in my head already, just need to write and draw - the hard part). Will be free and hopefully touch on issues to do with ethics, worldviews, social justice, etc. But yeh, it will still be a superhero style comic. Hahah.

[4] I cannot see how anime would fit into my other stuff. Watching anime is mostly a leisurely exercise for me right now. I guess at most I may try to raise complex "meaning of life" kinda questions in stuff I draw.

Cheers. :)

My dreams are simple:

• To write a book so dense very few people would read it through
• To make a movie that most people in this place would probably not be able to sit through. If you can't make it through Steven Soderbergh's Solaris without falling asleep then you should skip my movie.
• To die a Christian

Agh. I miss Mr. SmartyPants.

But seriously, I like this thread. It's awesome seeing what everybody wants from life. As for myself, I have two main goals: to become the ultimate pastor and create awesome amateur manga. I also want to acquire as much as I can of learning, fun, and friendship.

I want to be an Airborne, Air Assault, Ranger, and Special Forces qualified officer in the Army. Then do something in a Special Forces Detachment and travel the world probably as a Civil Affairs officer. I want to learn Arabic, Farsi, Korean, and Taiwanese, Japanese, and improve my Spanish.(You have to be proficient in at least one language anyway) I want to get down, dirty, and be right in the thick of things wherever it is. I want to be imbedded with indiginous forces for months at a time living with them as if I was one of them. But I don't just want to be at the forefront combatatively wise but I want to be there after the fact wherever it might be. I want to help the people rebuild their lives. Building bridges, roads, schools, hospitals, inoculate people, distribute food and medicine, get power and sewer lines running, training a new police and military force.

And I'm not just talking about Iraq either I mean anywhere and everywhere. Iraq is just a footnote in the history of the Special Forces. They've been everywhere from Croatia, Italy, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Columbia, Panama, Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and just about everywhere else you can think of doing all the things I've mentioned.

And of course marry an awesome Christian girl. Have a couple of kids and get settled in. All that good stuff. And when I'm older either just move higher up the chain or hopefully get into the NSA or the CIA. Retire with a ginourmous pension and live in some nice house with my family on a a hill overlooking a beach.;)

How does anime fit? It really doesn't I'll just keep liking anime that's all even better if my future wife does too.:thumb: But I'm sure I can persuade her even if she's not a big anime. I mean who wouldn't like anime after seeing the good stuff.:P

My Big Dream (To quote Bruce Wilkinson) is to go into publishing and revolutionize the Christian literary world.

Secondary dream is to get powerful enough to quite literally kick greedy Hollywood moguls out of their offices and install ones who will repair the corrupted society.

Ultra Magnus wrote:Third point is noble dude.

Thanks.
Ultra Magnus wrote:Just wondering about points 1 and 2. What's the deal? :)

Because I wanna. ;) Seriously, its more or less a logical analysis of my mind and tastes. I'm always writing something and my books tend to go on forever with long, disrciptive passages and I like long movies with a well-edited slow pace. So it would be logical that any movie I produce might end up being a character-driven art-house movie in the style of Andrei Tarkovsky (who did the Russian version of Solaris which is twice as long as Soderbergh's and twice as slow).
