I couldnt find this thread topic anywhere, sorry if i missed it....

Why did you pick your picture to be posted for your avatar?

I picked mine because i truely love martial arts[mostly Kung fu-ish stuff].
I also like long hair on chinese martial artists.
Also it was an active avatar.....

 Well, usually I have a bishounen as my avatar picture, despite my being a girl. But a little while back I made a pair of avatars with Joshua and Rosette Christopher, so, being Impact Alberto's self proclaimed sister, I gave him the Joshua Christopher ava and I'm using the Rosette Christopher avatar. ^__^ Oddly, I actually like it a lot.

My avatar is Zakuro from Tokyo Mew Mew. I picked her cuz she's crossed with wolf DNA and wolves make me happy. And it kinda went with my name.

I usually pick anime characters I think I relate to.

My first one that I've had for the longest time: Eikichi Onizuka
I tend to be the comic relief in real life and Onizuka is full or random outbursts. But although he's very random and comedic, there's a good caring heart underneath it all. Something I can relate to because I'm much the same. He always has his own way of teaching life lessons and that's really cool.

Currently: Makunouchi Ippo from "Fighting Spirit."
Another character that I relate to. Originally, Makunouchi was a kid in school always being picked on and beat up. After taking up boxing, he gets the confidence needed to not allow himself to just accept the fact people pick on ya. After becoming a pro, he never once got revenge or hit the bullies. That takes a lot of heart and restraint, something most people don't have.

Growing up I was always picked on too. Then after taking so much, I started to stand up for myself. Perhaps I regret a few of the outcomes (fights), I've never once regreted gaining the self-confidence and respect I gained. Without those, I would still have low self-esteem and allow people to walk all over me.

So those are the reasons behind my avatars.

Plus they both represent my two sides:
Onizuka: for my random comments and jokes
Makunouchi : for my shy side

Onizuka is awsome!

You put a lot of thought into your pic,,, thats great because i think when you take the time to put your emotion behind your pic's choice it really adds meaning!

Gee, my reason sounds really dull now. I just like Teen Titans, especially Raven, and thought this picture was pretty darn funny.

It generates some great jokes in the "Avatar Caption Game" too!

I picked mine because Breath of Fire 2 (and 3) is my favorite RPG ever.

Um....because she's from X-Men, she has cool hair and she's goth? I think I'm in a bit of an avatar identity crisis right now, I like this one, and I think people are beginning to relate it to me but the urge to switch is coming on strong. I kinda want to use one of my own drawings..

What seriously drew me to this avatar though is the expression on her face. She just looks so melancholy, which is a feeling I'm quite familiar with.

Originally my avatar was Ness from Earthbound. That was the first RPG I ever played and I loved the game, what with it's great humor and interesting characters.

Now my avatar is Joshua from Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. He happens to be my favorite character from that game and his fighting style would be the one I'd like to learn. Plus I liked his backstory and personallity. He never really takes anything comletely seriously and cracks jokes a lot.

The girl that you see in my avatar who is forever walking but never actually getting anywhere is the older version of my own character, Melody Rouge, who is the heroine of my work-in-progress video game, The Traveller's Guide. (Click the link in my signature if you're interested in it. :) )

I picked Cillian Murphy as Scarecrow/Dr.Crane because I think he's hot. That's all. XD;

I picked mine because I like Kaori Yuki's work (I've only read some of the Godchild/Count Cain translated manga scans online because the manga is all in Japanese); and Merryweather is too adorable..

I wanted a non offensive charachter when I joined the site so I chose the most neutral charachter that I knew about. Hence I have a chocabo.

(Certainly confused me at first AH...>.> <.< )

I chose mine because I drew it in Sunday school class whilst taking notes on how we christians are Soldiers for Christ and how we shouldn't be passive... it is a reminder to me to constantly be a soldier for Christ. so...yah..

ON WARD CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS!

Before I post why I created & picked this avatar, perhaps others wouldn't mind telling me their opinions of it. Like / dislike, what you think I'm "saying" about myself, etc.

SailorDove, your avatar says, "I am a cute blonde with a penchant for sailor suits." ;)

I picked my avatar (Tofu-sensei from Ranma 1/2) because Ranma was the first anime series I got really into, I'm an MD in real life, and Tofu and I have some physical resemblance. (Oh, and we also crush really hard on Kasumi. )

he he, should've posted in the "avatar caption" thread for ya!

There were a couple other symbolisms behind the avatar, wonder who might figure them out.

The reason I picked the Avatar pictur is that the egale has a meaning to it. You see on my 16th Birth day My mom and aunt gave me a necklace that has a egale on it. Plus it has a passage to it. Isaiah 40:28-31(It is in my sig if you want to read it). The egale helps me to trust God and that I will have a happer life with out pain that is inside of me right now, once I am called home. to me it has a value to it and it helps me as well.

Mine's Rip from the manga Hellsing, simply because there are not enough Rip fans and Rip is cool. That is all.

I will be changing my av soon however.

Spike because he's the man. And CB was the anime that made anime cool to me again and not just some nostalgia from when I was younger.

I had some Army Airborne patches the, the 82nd, 101st, and 173rd, but changed it back awhile ago.

My avatar usually has the same design with very little variation. He's supposed to be Doctor Bull from my favourite book "The Man who was Thursday" by GK Chesterton. Here'es the passage that describes him.

Right at the end sat the man called Saturday, the simplest and the most baffling of all. He was a short, square man with a dark, square face clean-shaven, a medical practitioner going by the name of Bull. He had that combination of savoir-faire with a sort of well-groomed coarseness which is not uncommon in young doctors. He carried his fine clothes with confidence rather than ease, and he mostly wore a set smile. There was nothing whatever odd about him, except that he wore a pair of dark, almost opaque spectacles. It may have been merely a crescendo of nervous fancy that had gone before, but those black discs were dreadful to Syme; they reminded him of half-remembered ugly tales, of some story about pennies being put on the eyes of the dead. Syme's eye always caught the black glasses and the blind grin. Had the dying Professor worn them, or even the pale Secretary, they would have been appropriate. But on the younger and grosser man they seemed only an enigma. They took away the key of the face. You could not tell what his smile or his gravity meant. Partly from this, and partly because he had a vulgar virility wanting in most of the others it seemed to Syme that he might be the wickedest of all those wicked men. Syme even had the thought that his eyes might be covered up because they were too frightful to see.
