Are we not allowed to have pics in our signature anymore? Because I can't get them to show. Arigato to all who help me!

Nope too much stress on the site and our 56K users.

I just thought it was, because of the server going down a few months back and they just haven't put the setting back up to let us use banners.


It doesn't really bug me anyway that we can't use pics or banners for our signs. I can understand why they needed to cut banners off here, sometime they can get in the way. I love this board and I want the server to be and stay happy and not fall apart again.

I think it's because it sucks too much bandwidth.

Honestly, I'm glad that sig pics are turned off. I'm stuck right now on dial up for a while, and this is the only bearable forum I've been on. Yes, it does suck for us dial up users.

I think there are other good reasons to not allow pictures in signatures, but I do not believe that is one of them.

If you don't like seeing signatures or if you don't want to wait for them to load, you can turn them off in the User CP (Click "Options"). I understand the constraints of dial-up users (being one myself), but our own limitations should not be an excuse to limit others.

My apologies then. I did not know about that particular option.

I hope I didn't sound too critical, my statement wasn't meant as an indictment against anyone. I assume a lot of members don't know about the various options available to them through the User CP. That's was the main reason for my post.

I apologize if you felt any antagonism from my previous post.

It just takes to much of the band width.

I thought that a moderator should perhaps officially post here that yes, the code for images no longer functions in signatures. This may eventually be changed, but at the moment it is unlikely to do so.

good. I hate browsing through forums to see 80 or so flashy pictures all throughout one page of posts alone. It drives me absolutely insane! Its not like i actually look at them, or click them or anything

BUT thats just me =)
