After having 3 or 4 inches of rain from Tropical Strom Cindy and now 3 to 4 more inches from Hurricane Dennis.

Now part of my house is a swimming pool. I have only had 4 hours of sleep from all of this. Since 6 am, we have been trying to pump water out. But it kept coming into the house.

Right now, we just trying to get the water out that is still left in the house. We worry about all of the stuff that we lost later.

Yeah, I saw it on the news. Almost all of metro Atlanta is flooded. Luckily, I'm not one of them, but still, that sounds pretty bad...

Yikes! Get dry soon. I've been in the Philippines, and floods are not enjoyable.

Unless you are homeless and made yourself a little boat.

We will. Just still a little bum about it, since there is nothing you can do about it or stop it from happening. At least I still have a home and all, its just going to take so time to clean this mess up.
Alot of other people in Altanta area are not so lucky.

Most of their house are fully under water.

Right now, there has been no rain for like four hours now. But they say, we could have rain all week.

yikes creepy stuff! ok this reminds me of a story

so my friend and I are closing up after work, and the sink clogs up. The sinks full of really disgusting water (this is where all the food chunks and drinks get dumped here) so i spent like 15 minutes (LITERALLY) trying to unclog the drain with a spoon, a plunger (I refused to reach my hand down this stuff) so I gave up.

I walked downstairs and reported to the higher authorities and they came up and looked at it, and tried unclogging it. they gave up and figured- ya we'll wait until the owner comes in tomorrow. So I went home and came in the next night.

sure enough the next day I come in at night and everythings fine. sinks unclogged. the end.

then someone comes up to me and tells me the story. Apparantly when she arrived, she went downstairs and noticed a trickle of water coming down the walls. apparantly this disgusting filthy yellow water backed up and flooded the kitchen nearly 2 feet deep. they almost closed the place it was so bad. Apparantly a pipe broke and backed the water up. they called a guy in to fix it and cleaned the place up just in time to open.

ok im sorry that story was lame, I'll work on telling better ones. v_v

It's a fine story. Stories are something that I need right now. I'm going to be up most of the time.

Some good news and bad news.

The bad news is, I have to stay up most of the night to keep a check on the water level that is a hole down here in the basement.

The good news is, we have just about all of the water up. The carpet (sp) is still wet down here in the basement area. There looks to not much lost, but still have to wait on that.

The other thing is, since I be up, I should pass 1,000 posts tonight.

As they say, a little rain must fall in life.

Just right now, I need a boat!

Well, life is sometime rough. The best thing to do is try not to let it get to you too much and laugh a little, when things get a little rough.

It wasn't easy, I can tell you that.

I second that! All I do is laugh.

I've developed the title as a radical, whos views and opinions are challenged by nearly everyone. People like being sad around here. Its nice finally meeting someone who isnt like that =)

I will try to get some sleep.

*runs the paper boat through the water

I think, I will name it the boat, Hope. After my good friend. :thumb:

One good thing about wet carpet is, it's really hot down here. I'm letting my feet get a little wet and letting it cool me off.

Plus, it makes my feet feel a little squishy.

We had nearly 5 inches of rain in one day, not to count what followed afterwards, but I live in a high area, and we didn't get flooded, thankfully.

happened her way.Last year they got hit pretty bad.
And it's not over yet Emily is on her way now so looks like the southeast
is going to be in for another pounding before the month is out. :(

Being on the fire dept, I ran a call back in the 70s that most people would not believe.
A heavy thunder storm came through the area and started flooding low areas in a few mintues. We got the call for a house flooding. We pulled up in front of a house on a dead in street and could see water flowing from the back of this house toward the end of the street into the woods,
We walked in the front door and looked left where the stairs to the basement were and the water was at the first step going down.
The house was built next to a flood plain and a storm drain had been placed in the yard but the people who owned the house planted small trees around the drain (Which I pulled up to clear the drain) to hide it which backed the water up to the house and into the outside basemant stairwell. The parents were not home. Their teenage children were and told us how the water filled the stairwell and the door just broke off the frame and started filling the basement.
It took 3 sump pumps, a small pumper and a gasoline pump hours to get the water down to a inch in the basement where water vaccums were to take over.
The family lost alot of items including a piano.

Just about all of the water is out of the basement now. The carpets are still a little wet, but they are drying up better now.

It's just that they smell! Blah for that!

Also, we didn't lost a thing that really matter. We lost a few little things, but they were stuff that we were going to throw out anyway.

All my stuff is okay.

and the irony of this all. Right now, I'm listening to Who'll stop the rain by Creedence Clearwater revival.

Right now, I'm more worried about mold forming on the carpet. I hope that I will not have deal with a terrifying moldy carpet incident!

I guess, I will have to used spirit lamps and engaged in combat to fight this moldy carpet. Anyone have a bottle of mildew remover from the bathroom?
