I've got pictures of Oro's cosplaying friend too. So here they are...
(None of her as battousai, though. Oh well.)
Oh, yeah, that's her sweeping. And doing battojutsu stance...XD
BTW, if you see these, feel free to comment. She'll get them.

I'd tell your friend that Kenshin didn't wear gi pants. And that plastic brooms weren't available in the Meiji era.
I have yet to see a male Kenshin cosplayer.

Wahaha...XD So true. But she doesn't have hakama or a wooden broom.
I've seen male Kenshin cosplayers. Not usually good though...they look too masculine.

There's more to the Battoujutsu stance. It's a real technique used by some styles, though I figured friction would slow it down...anyway, I can pull it off pretty easily.
Oops!

The battojutsu pic isn't there.
Hang on, here it is...

...what...? Her left should be near the top of the sheath, and her right should be held at an angle a few inches above the sword's handle. Leg's should be spread more, as well.

*giggles*
Yeah...she needs more practice...
*goes to make her practice*

Lol, is she seriously into kenjutsu? How old is she? At first, I thought it was a boy...

Where's the scar? All Kenshin cosplayers need to have a scar to look genuine!
Lol

Hah! my friend isn't really practicing kenjutsu, but she sure does watch rurouni kenshin a lot. She's around my age.
She usually wears the scar unacompanied by the costume, which makes people give her really weird faces

Lol she has the scar, it just didn't show up right in the pics, maybe I'll torture her into doing it again.
The katana is plastic, by the way, she got it at...dun dun dun DUN...the Dollar Store! XD (Hey, it worked...)

You can get a real katana like mine for around 40, and unlike they might tell you, it can be used. Just take care of it.

Give her a break guys.

Yojimbo...
Her parents won't let her get a sword...
(Yes, even a sakabatou!)
C'mon, I just wanted to see if anyone thinks she's a good cosplayer...the little details don't really matter all that much, do they?

OHH yeah i remember those cheap dollar swords from like arcade prizes and dollar stores ^_^ *hugs own katana*

She wants to know if she bears ANY resemblance at all.
(Aside from the little details, of course. There IS a scar...it just showed up bad on the camera so she's going to redo the pics.)

We both think she does, HOS-kun, but I guess that doesn't count that much. (?)

Well, if she had a scar then I would recognize the costume as Kenshin. Maybe if the top were more pinkish colored (faded red) it would be easier to tell.

It's hard for me to give anyone a break when it's dealing with battoujutsu. My own style revolves around it, and I'm seriously into kenjutsu. I have quite a few scars from being cut.

You do?
Oh, all right, I'll make her take a picture where the scar is more obvious.

Sheesh ya would of thought your friend tripped Lil' Brudder, the one legged dog, by having pics of her cosplaying for the first time by the way you guys were critiquing her.
And then told him he couldn't throw for a million trillion yards as an NFL quarterback.

LOL. Yeah, be nice, it's a cheap costume. She's getting one on eBay soon, last I heard.
