taking a year off can be good if you don't know what to do, but for me I would probably enjoy the freedom too much so it's better if I don't know what I'm missing and just throw my self in the grips of school stress...... dang it, now I'm depressed

Heh, you seem to indeed share similarities with a certain tiny snow fairy. And here I'm trying to get in the most college time possible. ^_^

weeeelllll, if Australia goes like japan you finish up about the time we have spring break. Or thats what I heard. we usually have about a three *glorious* month break from june to end of augest. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and yes, in some respects I am like a certain little snow fairy that will not be mentioned for many reasons, none of which I can think of at this moment. He he....

Australia has longer holidays during Christmas time - we usually get out mid December and go back there very late Janruary or very early February. Our school year goes from Feb to mid December (obviously with term holidays inbetween). We have 4 terms in a year. How different is it elsewhere?

Germany gets out about the time America does, but, since they are a slave for school, have a shorter break then we do. I have no idea what the reast of europe does

In America, the typical school term is from late August/early September to mid-December, and then mid-January to late May, with two one-week breaks each semester/term.

Myself, I'm now a sophomore in college (sort of), but I went straight to college. Now I'm mid-transfer, and I'll start on August 18 at my new seminary. Sadly, I'm a freshman...again. Only 12 of my 29 hours transferred. =(

I graduated from college last summer, and this fall I will be enrolling in a Lutheran seminary. Thanks to some snafus with registration and entrance exams, I'm now in the middle of an unintentional year off.

Putting off my education was very frustrating, but this year has turned out to be a real blessing. The whole year's been a steady streak of learning and earning - earning some savings to help with school and learning computer skills, martial arts, foreign languages, Bible knowledge, as well as more spiritual things about faith and the world and the why people are what they are.

On top of that, if I would have been in school, I probably wouldn't have discovered CAA. So while I'm glad that my path to full time church work will finally be moving forward again, I can hardly say that it was a year ill spent.

Directly to college. I can't say I have a terrible amount of time to do otherwise, nor would it be financially feasible. After my first degree, I may make an exception for a year-long discipleship program I am considering.

Enjoy college/uni! It's fun! If you're not, it's still fun!

Since I'm in Australia I graduated last year, and entered uni this year. Currently am under exam period for this semester, so better get studying, or something.

starting out at the bottom of the food chain *again* is annoying. You don't get much respect, no good classes, no good dorm rooms.... *sniff*, sorry, pent up emotion

I am entering my third year of college in the Fall. Rather than living in the dorms, I will be living off-grounds with 5 other guys (all good friends). It should be awesome. After that, I will have to get a Master's Degree since I can't really do anything with nothing more than degrees in English and Philosophy :eyeroll: .

Went directly to Uni. I knew if I took a break off I would have forgotten most of what I learn in highschool. Especially the math parts. :p Unfortantely I did lived in the dorm last year. I lived in a 60 year old all male dormitory, couldn't afford the new dorms.... 1000 smacker-roos extra..... Anyway wasn't so bad. People where friendly too each other and it had a certain charm. I even had a giant dead roach watch dog that watched my room when I was gone. *The roach was stuck between pipe and the wall*
