1 hakama

2 strips of plaid cloth

You just gave me much enjoyment, kirakira! That so reminds me of my brother, ben. Oh I forgot to metion I have a ninja costume as well. Got it last year for Halloween. The pants were like 10 sizes to small, and the top was 3 too big, but it's all cool. I have a wrestling mask from mexico, and it all looks very nice! Kinda like schwartz from G Gundam.

I dressed up once as Spike from Cowboy Bebop for a day while I was at college in my freshman year...
The Straight and Narrow

I chose to walk the straight and narrow road, but one day I lost balance and fell off it. I had fallen onto some sharp rocks and injured myself. There were people passing by who would merely stare at me, and then keep walking. Thoughts of worthlessness entered into my mind, and as I chose to believe the lies, my wounds grew worse. I was so overcome with grief that I nearly gave up... but then a man walked up to me and stopped. Without saying a word, he started to wrap my wounds, he gave me some water, and then lifted me up and embraced me. He then whispered these words into my ear, "I love you my child." As he said those words I could feel all the worthlessness and despair fall away. He then held out his hands. They had huge holes in them. He then said, "Walk with me." I then took his hand and we walked together. Every now and then I would fall from the road, but no matter where I fell, he was always there to pick me up and tell me that He loved me.

As long as you're not doing it every day, to the exclusion of responsibilities....

Dress-up is fun! I'd post a pic of me at the Renaissance Faire, but I can't find it at the moment.

the things I dressed up as that I can remember:

cat,
cow girl *authentic, not some cheezy costume*,
The Queen of Crayola,
Rapster,
. . . a person

*Washes brain out with soap*
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Me and my niece/room-mate, liked to stay up late a play dress up.
We would then take pics and compare looks.
It was fun and a good pass time.

I wear a keiko gi and hakama, but since it's for Kendo, it's not necessarily for fun....

I bet they don't distinguish rank by color, just like Kendo. The only way you can tell the difference between a hachidan and a zero-kyu is by fighting them. (Age also helps, as senior kendoists are more likely to have old man-stink. Unless one starts at a very advanced age).

I don't even have bogu, so that would make me a zero-kyu.

YEeahhh, my friend's step dad at college is a 12th drgree black belt and owns his own dojo... maybe a coulpe... and I was told if you don't take a martial art you shouldn't wear a hakama because it can be offensive to those who do.... becuase they work hard for theirs or something.. yeah... I wanna take Kendo sometime....

I cosplay a lot. I made a Yukina costume for this year's Metrocon (if only I can find a wig) and i also have a Miho Tohya (from Megatokyo) costume. ^^

I am planning on starting kendo as soon as I get enough cash........but it'll take forever. That's why I have my hakama. I just need the armor and a bokken, plus a bag, and eventually, ehn i get up, a katana. Too much for me at the moment.

Actually, my school's main arts are Tae Kwon Do and Hap Ki Do. Weapons, like the katana are taught in extra programs, with each weapon consisting of 4 only 4 levels. I just got the uniform for use in tournaments and demonstrations.
