My opinion is that that's...well, really disturbing. These girls, and I guess some guys are into it as well, are desperately seeking acceptance and the need to feel attractive, but at the expense of hurting themself. It's sad when people just can't be content with the way they are. Sadly, I have friends who know girls like this. They're so consumed with anorexia and becoming thin. They really need our prayers.

That is rather disturbing.

Anorexia is a sad thing. And the bitter irony is that, even though they are trying to look attractive, when they get really thin it's not attractive at all.

:( That's so very disturbing. Not surprised though...this stuff has quite the allure, and i've seen on various sites and blogs how very diet-supportive and clan-ish pro-ana/mia people can be. agh...just very disturbing.

I am a dancer, and I have met a whole lot of people with eating disorders. I even met a married woman who eventually eventually died before her husband because of her anorexia. It's really scary how pervasive it is.

I read that a couple days ago and it really worried me...:( it's really saddening what other 'gods' people will turn to.

Good lord. That's horrible. It almost sounds like something demonic, and it scares me.

It's really amazing how people can think they're in control of themselves, when they're really not. Quite the opposite. Don't they realize they're going to die? There's really no question about it. If they keep that kind of lifestyle, eventually their bodies will give out. People die of anorexia all the time. -_-;;;

One thing I don't get is how they're well enough to do anything at all. I went without eating for a whole day once and not only did I have no energy, it was painful. Does their body just adjust to the lack of nutrients or what?

These people really need Jesus. -__-

I have talked with an ana and i feel sorry for her i wrote her after seeing a site that was pro ana i like goiong to various sites and witnessing so i did and i said you dont have to hurt yourself and its not what God would want and they seem to call it fasting its a little dumb i said fasting is a spiritual experience but anyways theis is what she wrote back-"thank you i just got out of the hospital i pop some pills while my family was gone but they came home early i got up to go to my room and passed out and hit my head on the edge of the table they pumped my stomach in time i m thinking of leaveing ana it seems ever since i became ana i just felt worse and worse what do u think i should do"- i told her it would be best to quit but i dont know if she has or not.
but i also said if they wanted to be skinny so stinkin bad they should do diet and excersize and by diet i mean eating right 6 samll meals a day with all the stinkin good foods of 3 big meals and healthy snacks.

Exactly. The type of people who generally tend to become anorexic are control freaks. Its so tragic... they're willing to put their life and health on the line to be something their not.

:( Definitly. Its depressing the types of things people get themselves into when they don't have Christ.[/size]

hmm...*becomes picky*

Let's not forget that Christians struggle with anorexia and bulimia too. It's all well and good to say they 'need Jesus' but in reality what they need is TRUTH. And God is truth. So yeah, i'm just being picky b/c I feel weird when it seems like people are saying only non-Christians deal with these issues. It's all people.

isnt it funny how christians r the first to point their fingers at other people? but hey, i'll be the 1st to say that i've done that a bunch.this sight is really cool though because we can discuss real problems with other christians.

but newayz, i heard of this one girl who was ana and balemic(however u spell it) so she was basically throwing up nothing and i think she died.it was really sad.but u know what the saddest thing about it was? she was doing it because her husband was unhappy with her(i think) and even when she was losing weight, he was still unhappy.

Yuck. I feel so sorry for anorexics. Whenever i think about people making themsleves throw up or killing themselves or worst of all BOTH it makes me feel really sad and queasy.
