or is this a bad way to run a business?

Ok....so me and my friend went to see Star Wars 3 on our b-day (yes..we have the same b-day). Anyway, we get in the theatre (small town theatre btw) and got our seats. I let him go get his drink first...about 5 minutes later he comes back and then I head out. I get in the crowd trying to figure out which line goes where. I eventualy get in the middle one. I stand in line for 10 minutes and when I get to the front I notice they have these cool star wars collector cups. Cept....the one that they were selling Obi Wan ones....but I wanted the Anakin one...which was one line over. So I got to the front and asked how much the cups were...seems I had to buy a combo and upgrade tog et it...so I agreed but then I asked if I could have the Anakin one. She looked over at it *which was a step and an arms reach to get and on the way to the icee machine* and looked back at me and told me "I'm sorry. If you want that cup you'll have to stand in that line." o_o; "you can't just reach over and grab it?" "no. You'll have to get out of this line and get to the back of that one if you want that cup." -_-;....*mentally: I have been standing in line for 10 minutes....and you can't just pick the cup up on the way to the icee machine?* I decided I wouldn;t let her ruin my b-day so I just slightly noded and she just smiled at me. I got out of line and waited another 10 minutes....I finaly got my combo and cup. -_- and I got in just as the lights dimmed. I'm nopt really complaining...but...it just seems really stupid that if they're moving around to get popcorn from one place and candy...that they can't just grab something when it's closer then all the others.....

anyone else have problems with the way business are run sometimes?

one side could be that.... you know... people are mean and rude... on the other hand... rules and regulations that the employee might have to follow... ya know?

My mom always says, "Whenever there are people involved their are problems." That pretty much sums up everything. :P My guess, though, is that they were being so overworked they were spacing out and didn't probably realize how ridculous they were being.

The world is full of amusing things. Don't you worry nuthin' about it. Some questionable things aren't really explainable anyways.

Someone told me that once...

As far as I have seen in life, theater workers are annoying.

That's stupid but whatcha gonna do... Well with all of my collector cups I drink from them like five times anyway and then they'll stay deep in some pantry closet forever till they get thrown away.

No, seriously. I don't have an amazing job...I work at a grocery store. But I have a fair amount of responsibility...yet I don't power trip on people. Go to a theater and the theater people are like....on an ego high. I went to a midnight showing of Episode 3...and they sat us an hour before the film. Well 2 fully dressed jedi got up, and started dueling at the front of the theater. Everyone in the theater was laughing and clapping...when in comes a frumpy theater guy.

HEY! If you guys don't sit down and put those away were gonna confinscate them and you can talk to management!

I realllly wanted to yell out. "I BET YOUR A TREKIE FAN FATBOY!"

That would have been ugly...since it was like 300-1. He was a big boy...but we had a Twilek girl a 6 foot tall Ewok, Han Solo...and a handful of Jedi.

My friends and i got in first in line at 8:00 pm in a decent sized city...enormous lightsaber battle with 30 jedi/sith at 10:00...but back to the topic

we bought drinks while we were waiting in line, and we could refill them, but after they started letting people we weren't allowed to refill them (i guess the theatre changed owners at midnight and the new owners had different drink policies... really annoying. I would have bought the $3.80 drink at first if they would have told me that it was the only one able to be refilled after midnight, instead of wasting my money with the $2.00 drink.)

We saw one of the guys from our church waiting in line for Episode III on the news, then when our youth group went to see it, he was there, seeing it for the ninth time. O.O
Of course, I'd do that if FF came to theatres...

I think typically people are just rude and mean when it comes to cases like that.

yuh! some people REALLY seem like they enjoy their job. :shady: btw, was anyone else not so impressed by that movie? I mean it was all right, but the acting wasn't very good, and the whole thing didn't really bowl me over.

Well my starwars III story,

We went to the theatre and found out that the movie we we're seeiing started 20 miniutes earlier then originally said in the paper, (Luckily we came 30 miniutes earlier for seats) so we went in and immieitly it started. well the first whole 5 miniutes where there in their little seperate aircrafts was completly covered up with shadow so we couldn't see anything....then the film goes out and just stops running...5 miniutes later they get it running again but they didn't rewind it...I went to go see what was going on and low and behond they told me they WOULD not rewind the video so all of us (30+) in that theatre had to move over to the one that started at 7:00 instead of 6:40, where it was litterally packed, most of the people had to sit on the floor seats...overall it was not a good experiance.

I worked at a food both in the fair once and people would come to the window in a bad mood and take it out on me and the other girl. I handled it by being as nice as possible. It goes both ways.

Man...My brother has all three of those cups! ^_^ He dug in the trashcans for two of them, and the other he got for free. He works at the theater in my town, but the people who work at my theater aren't like the ones you mentioned...Hey now, having him work at the movie theater is awesome..Mostly because I get into movies for free! And I get free popcorn, too...Yeah, it's tasty when you don't have to pay anything for it! XD Anyways, that's too bad about the whole cup thing...-_-' Some people are so stupid sometimes...*shakes head*

Sounds like the flight attendant in "meet the parents" some people just are jerks and idiots, whether they are selling soda or buying it. Corruption lurks on both sides of the drink counter.
