CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

It seems to be the time of year for AP tests, and I am curious. For those of you who are taking them now or have done so in the past, how many of them have you taken (or will take), and which ones are they?

Meh, I'm not really a huge AP person here. I took only one and that was a Statistics class in high school. Luckilly the class I took had a really intensive prep unit just for the test, so I did pretty well because of that.

What exactly are AP tests?

They are a type of standardized test over specific subjects (calculus, history, physics, foreign languages, etc.) that can be taken to earn college credit. The tests are generally about 3 hours long each, and they are taken in the junior and senior years of high school. How much college credit will be awarded for a passing score (and what is considered passing) varies depending on what college you will be going to.

Unfortunately, there are very few AP tests offered at my school, so my participation is limited. However, these are the others that I was able to take:
Calculus AB
English Literature and Composition
US History (I have not yet taken this test)

My college thinks fairly little of the AP tests, so there is little credit awarded, but this credit is awarded on a 3, 4 or 5. This basically removed all of my real worries, though I would like to get a 5 on all three examinations.

I have taken two (Calc AB and English Lit/Comp), both of whose credit have gone completely to waste.

Do Gov't exames count.

I've taken 1: Biology.

Back in the waning years of the twentieth century, I took U.S. Government, U.S. History, Physics, and Statistics. Ironically, my hardest class my final year of high school was Standard (as opposed to Honors or AP) English, not because of the difficulty of the material but because the teacher treated us all like deliquents because we didn't sign up for Honors or AP.

In that case I took three Gov't exams one in Math on in English and one in Physics

yea i just took the ap literature and composition one yesterday...so glad its over and done with

At this point, my examinations are thankfully complete. We shouldn't discuss them at all for 48 hours, but particularly not on CAA. However, I'll give my general feelings about the US History examination.

I can't be certain on the multiple choice, but I had no trouble whatsoever on the Document Based Question. While I feel I responded to the essays well, they were over periods of history that I am not familiar with. At least they didn't ask a question to the effect of: "Compare and contrast the immigration policies of Martin Van Buren and Chester Arthur, especially relating to the steel tariff."

That having been said, I must wonder what responses the graders would receive if they asked a question about a completely non-existant event. I know that I would attempt a complete essay on the subject...

A non-existent event? I think I would write my name on it, draw a big, fat smiley face, and turn in that bad boy.
Grader: *turns the paper upside-down and ponders* Hmm... -3.

As for the test, I'm pretty certain I passed. The DBQ was pretty simple. I had a bit of trouble thinking of a sufficient amount of facts for some parts of the free-response essays, but overall I won't be having nightmares about it. Time will tell and until then, I'm rewarding myself with brownies and skipping the rest of the school day to play video games with a friend. XD

I took the English Language and Comp, it wasn't that bad. I also took the US History, and I thought the multiple choice was hard, but the essays weren't -that- bad...

But now i have the Art History test on Wednesday that i'm really scared about because I need to review all the Prehistoric to Classical to Renaissance, and I also have to learn the Modernism and Impressionism and Post modern stuff we haven't learned yet. >_<;;;;; yada...

AP Tests = the final pain after months of studying x__x

wait.. no... XD;; it's after you get your scores. o__o the anticipation of whether you failed or not! PAIN!

ditto- it was evil; I got a two. Unfortunately, it was only after the test that I realized it would've probably been wiser to take an AP course before taking the AP test.
