Anyone who would like to join this thread can, but if you want to participate in the assignment you are making a commitment that you will be expected to keep. If you do not wish to take part in the assignment given you are still more than welcome to share your opinions and comments.

Heres what we will be doing: First of all there will be an assignment of some sort posted by me the leader of this thread (holysoldier5000). This assignment will be something like:

-Go out of your way to be nice to the people who make fun of you or don’t particularly like you.

-Find someone you know is having a tough time at home or school and invite him or her to do something with you and you’re friends.

*If you have any suggestions for future assignments you can PM holysoldier5000. To avoid confusion please do not post them on this thread.

Next, if you choose to accept the assignment you will be expected to report back on this thread if you were able to accomplish it, and how it went. Also during this week you will be praying for your fellow CAA members who have also accepted this task (a list will be sent to you by PM) and they will be praying for you as well.

The first assignment will be issued shortly and a new assignment will be posted every week.

God Bless

holysoldier5000’s report for Week 1

This report can be used as a sample report for other reports.

holysoldier5000’s report for Week 1:

I have already started working on the assignment and it is going very well. There is a guy in one of my college classes that looks like the very opposite of someone I would want to hang around. He is a loner who looks like an eighties heavy metal rocker. (long hair, goatee, grunge cloths.) And I go and stereotype the guy as just another punk. Well I talked to him yesterday and found out he is a devote Christian who is looking about going into the ministry. :wow!: Imagine my shock. I thought this guy couldn’t amount to nothing…I was defiantly wrong on that.

We hit it off real well, we got to talking about Heavy Metal Christian music and it just went great from there. Now I am going to meet with him Tuesday, after class, and he is going to let me listen to some of the Heavy Metal Christian music he has been writing.

So there is my report for the week. Now it is your turn.

Oh, and quick question... is youre report true, or did you just make it up as an example?

Yes you will be taking care of that.

Everyone, Kewl Girl 16 is the official PM person for this thread. So you will be receiving a PM list from her.

Sorry I forgot to mention that.

And yes that story is true. It just happened to me yesterday! He is a really cool guy, and I am glad I talked to him. And he was glad I talked to him too. Being a loner he doesn’t have many friends. It was great for him, and me, to find a Christian brother in a secular college.

I guess you just don't get it.

Let me ask you this. Do you walk into someone else's house for the first time, grab their car keys and take off with their car? Of course not, that's rude. The analogy is the same for a forum--you, nor anyone else, do not simply waltz in somewhere you have no ownership of and simply take threads wherever you want them to go. I have no issue with people making discussion threads or what have you, but things like this need to be cleared by the administration for a variety of reasons--the least of which is mere courtesy.

So the next time you get the idea to start some big, involving project, you ask permission. As a youth leader I expect you understand the concept of authority and around here, you need to learn to respect the staff's.

And anyone that comes to me and says "well that's not in the FAQs", listen up. It's never had to be. It has never been an issue before, but let this post stand for reference: you want to do something big? You get permission by a staffer. Period. Thread closed.
