I usually don't. I instead prefer sucking up the bandwidth by constantly renewing the forums section, especially now since Volt's Sidebar doesn't work anymore. (-__-)\

I use the "View New Posts" link on the front page when I first get on to catch up, then use the "Latest Threads" or just wander after that.

I use it almost exclusively. Opening the threads in new windows minimizes the number of pages that need to load and prevents any from slipping past. Very convenient tool.

To be honost, I have never used it once. ^^;; Just my style I guess. I start reading in general when I get on...and just make my way down.

Nope, I never use it. I start at the administration forum (wink wink to staffers) and work my way up.

I use it after I check responses to my posts to see new stuff via my profile. SOmetimes I forget to check the dates on posts when I search categories, so going with Get New is a good way to accidentally avoid grave digging

I always use it, although I usually check subscribed threads first by going through my user cp.

Piloswine: I never use the "get new"
Chorus of sailors: what never?
Piloswine: No never!
Chorus of sailors: what never?
Piloswine: well... Hardly ever!
Chorous of Sailors: hardly ever uses the "get new"! So give three cheers and one cheer more for that guy who doesn't use "get new" no more! So give three cheers and one cheer more fooooor, he doesn't use "get new" no more!
Piloswine exits left while chorus of sailors dance off to the right.

Ummm... what exactly is/was Volt's sidebar? AAARGH! I stay in the Prayer Room far too much!
Anyway, I generally stick to my favorite forums, although I really need to start moving around and looking at other stuff more.
*EDIT: Okay, I found out. Will that sidebar be usable again when the CAA gets back up and running in its original domain?

Coming Soon: CAA-- The Musical, By SIlbert and Gullivan. See Ashley sing "I am the very model of a modern website moderator"; the delightful "Three Anime Trolls"; and Shatterheart's "If I see one more post on that topic, I'll lock the @#$% thread!!!"

AnimeHeritic, I almost laughed when I saw that.
I use the get new a LOT. In firefox, I click get new, and then open each "page" on the get new in a new tab, then I start at the last tab and work my way forward, opening stuff in new tabs as I see fit. That keeps me from losing EVERYTHING when a DB error occures (though I haven't seen any of those recently).

Yep, I use it. It's a lot less confusing when looking for any new posts.

I still use Ie6, so I have to juggle the back buttons around during a db error, but I've gotten pretty good at it, and keeping a txt file on the desktop to save my writing in case it crashes.

I generally just brose the forums - which is why I miss a lot of topics. After reading the esponses here, perhaps I will give it a try.
Very funny, Heretic, by the way.

I use the "get new" feature every time I log in here. I also have separate tabs for updated subscribed threads, private messages, and results on other searches.

tabbed browsing sure is nice, ain't it. *hugs Firefox*
