So, anyway, I'm not wearing anything green. Although earlier this morning I prolly looked green cause I wasn't feeling too well. eh heh...
I heard about the history of St. Patrick. His story is pretty cool. Haven't figured out who came up with "leprechauns" though....

Did you know that St. Patricks Day is kind of a holiday that celebrates Christianity? Ireland was mostly pagan until St. Patrick came and taught them Christianity. (It's actually a really long story.) Then England came and invaded them and treated them badly. Also, their religion was repressed. They wore green and shamrocks just like the persecuted Christians used the fish symbol to show that they were Christians. Then England actually made it a law that no one was allowed to wear green. People were actually hanged for wearing green! Sad stuff.

Wow I didnt know the story about the green and shamrocks being related to standing up to religious opression from England! Now I really understand why this really brings out the pride of Irish people the world over. Happy St. Patrick day everyone =)

Somehow, I got the idea that it was Valentine's Day...spawning a Valentine's Day picture...but luckily, I was wearing green, so I didn't get pinched.

Ah, yes, St. Patrick's Day. The best day in the world to be part Irish. I wish my family was all Irish...No wait...I take that back because then we wouldn't be part Scottish. Oh well. I'm going to go listen to some Dropkick Murphys now :jump:

*plays Down by the Sally Gardens*

Now we bring St. Patrick's Day to a close on this March 17th 2005...I would like to wish everyone a Happy St. Patricks Day...one last time...as we say goodbye to this eventful day...until next year...may the Celtic spirit stay in our hearts forever.

As we say goodbye to this day,
May the wonders of the Celtic spirit stay,
And on the same day next year
I will raise you a pint
Of a frosty, green beer

The Irish blood in some people,
Will miss this special day,
Where Christianity became
the offical way.

And as I watch the time stike midnight,
I lay on my bed to rest
And my last words to you will be
An Irish blessing

God bless

CephasVII
