Forgive me for ranting...

"Jesus saves, but Darwin scores the goal!"
"Better to rule in hell than to serve in heaven"(as if!)
"Paul is a stupid ****** who fell for a guy who can pass gas the best"

These are the things people just brandish in my face when I tell them my morals are violated.

Are those people in college or around your age?

I just wondering?

Well with those types of comments (Which are uncalled for), I surely hope they're not college kids because if so, I would reconsider their level of education.

And by the way, ignore them, what is between you and God is far more important than what your peers think.

Trite remarks are no substitue for either reasoned arguments, or for basic politeness during a clash of opinions. They also tend to betray a questionable understanding of the subject matter to which the saying relates; in this case Charles Darwin, 'Paradise Lost' and St. Paul of Tarsus.

Unfortunately, such irritations are hardly the reserve of atheists.

Surprisingly, they're a lot older than I am.

You know that logical reasoning makes a whole lot of sense Technomancer, that seems to be the biggest qualm of many atheist out there, they want validated proof and always resort to alternatives to distance away Christianity and the Bible.

I like what you just said though, I think with that in place, you can show how atheist have plenty of gaps in their ways of viewing things.

God have mercy on their souls, for they have no idea how much they will regret for denouncing God.

Best to pray for them teigeki_calesa.

By the way, nice to meet you, my name is Cephas.

Do some study on evolution and disprove their theory. It's easy, and it worked for me. : )

Well, that's a little off topic and believe me it's not nearly as easy as some people like to make out. There's a reason for the theory's acceptance, and it isn't because of facile sayings or bad generalizations.

gah, i hear that same crap at my college. mostly from people in th 18-25 age group. seems to be the kids who go to clubs to get breeding partners or ignorant liberals who enjoy dissing christianity as a hobby. my college is full of crackheads that use statements like that. im gonna just stop here 'cause ill get wordy and im not out to offend people.

anyways, wow, yeah. its sweet how Christianity is the only faith people are quickly refusing to respect. you cant persecute me, im a muslim/aethiest/whatever, your discriminating against me!!! lawsuit or words spread against you and your reputation is ruined. tell people you are offended about jokes that poke fun or blatintany say pretty much 'God sucks,' and your laughed at and people get in line to slam you. no, we [ the US] are not persecuted at all in comparrison to people across the world but we get a pretty sweet segregation and mockery. ill just rest in the fact its not for us to retaliate, but God will. glad im not gonna be on the receiving end of that holy wrath.

No evolution vs. creationism on this thread -- just as a gentle reminder in case anyone wanted to run with the topic.

Well, since they are older then 21 and make comments like that. There is no point in fighting with them with words as why you believe this and that.

I really don't think they are trying to be in a group that doesn't believe in God, but I think they just want to be pain about it when they know somesome has faith in something that they don't understand about or just don't want to learn.

Because you're afraid of the logical piledrivers I'll pull? j/k As for me, I'll simply posit an "I don't know" or more accurately "Three chapters in Genesis shouldn't be a basis for faith in Jesus." But I will say this, and I think even Technomancer will agree--accepting that the life and the universe has no meaning, and that everything is full of sound and noise signifying nothing has terrible ethical and theological consequences that even Darwin acknowledged.

The one bumper sticker that really annoys me is "If men got pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament."

Let people say what they will. If they still feel the same way when they die... Then I would hate to be in their shoes.

Cracks like that are usually told to see what kind of reaction they will get from a christian. Just let it go, it's serves no good reason to retaliate. There will be a ton of them. There are many who hate the fact or idea of a more powerful being out there... that knows all and is more powerful then humans .

Actually, I'm a little disappointed. Those aren't even all that clever. If you want to poke light at someone's moral code, at least you could do is look up a decent insult. They obviously can't come up with a good one themselves.

"Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. 'Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened.' But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander."

Hrmm, they should at least say something logical instead of spouting unfounded and uneducated insults....like what was said before, they should back it up, at least.
