Hmm...I was homeschooled from 4th through graduation, which was last May. Have mixed opinions about homeschooling though. (not trying to start a debate
)

Homeschooling rocks
I was homeschooled all my life and, thanks to my mom's exellent teaching, now college is pretty easy. My favorite subject was science, exept for physics which got confusing.

I was homeschooled from fifth grade until I was twelve, it was great. At twelve though I enrolled into a community college where I graduated several years later with my associates in animation degree. Now I'm heading for my BS in physics
. All of this is thanks to my mom the internet l33t h4x0r! Because of this experience I intend to homeschool my kids, I believe that this experience brought me closer to my family instead of the distancing that I believe normally occurs in high school. On an interesting note though, when my mother tried to pull the plug on my public education, the principle offered to take several of the male proffessors and drag me kicking and screaming back to the public school after throwing me in the back of a pickup truck. The thought, just makes me laugh! LOL
Anyways go homeschooling, down with public schools!

I was homeschooled 1-3 grade and the last 2 years of school. The best thing 'bout homeschooling is the fact that you can eat anything you want for lunch--almost whenever you want!
The bad thing about it--in my personal opinion--is how lonely you feel from not being able to be around people. Although, I was just as lonely in every other school. And also, YOU DON'T GET GYM!!!

YIPEE!!! HOME SCHOOLERS RULE!!
I have been homeschooling since 4th grade! It is the best!!
The reason I started homeschooling is because my mom was gonna pull my older bro. out anyway because he has adhd and he was getting bored with school because it was really easy to him. I begged to homeschool with him because I HATED school!!!! I mean I was getting straight A's and was one of the 'most popular girls in my grade, but I hated it because I hated the people there. They were always mean and nasty to each other. (currently my grade is the "Most ill-behaved children this school has ever seen" as one of the teachers said..)
So my Mom is homeschooling our entire family. Its hilarious because us and another homeschooling family are involved in tons of extra curricular activitiesand commuity service and such that we have become the most well spoke of familys in the entire town.
My fav. class is 'History of the Christian Churches' which is a post-secondary class I get to take from a nearby Christian College. Its so much fun!!
I agree. Homeschooling can be kinda lonley, but Im involved in som many diffrent extra curricular activities and youth group programs that I know all the kids from the Public School anyways. Besides I couldnt bear going to school anyways, to much swearing, drinking, drugs, gossiping, cutting, smoking, and such for me personally. I like to stay home, do school, read my Bible, and work on my drawings instead....but maybe thats just me.

Lunis' schooling history:
I went to a Christian school in Florida until we moved after first grade. I spent part of second grade in a public school in Colorado, and the rest of the year homeschooling. The next few years, I went to a Christian school. Then, in the middle of sixth grade, we moved to Arizona. The only good Christian school was too far away from us, so we started homeschooling. I went to a nearby public school, part time, for Spanish class and to be on their basketball team. We had such a good experience with homeschooling in Arizona, that when we moved here, we just decided to stick to homeschooling. Now I'm in ninth grade, and we plan to homeschool through all of highschool.
I haven't felt lonely much in homeschool for many reasons. 1. The time we homeschooled for part of second grade in Colorado, I was good friends with my neighbors' kids. 2. In Arizona, a group of relatives that went to my church homeschooled, and we became good friends. 3. Here, I'm just a loner. I don't fit in with the kids at my church, nor anyone else who lives nearby. They all have strange attitudes and interests. But I'm pretty much okay with that, since I don't depend greatly on many friends. 4. I don't think I would be any happier with kids at public schools. All the times I went to a public school, they just didn't have the same morals or interests as me. It's like most people think differently than me, which makes me more of a loner.
About not having gym, I kind of do have gym. I'm on a club basketball team, and I get plenty of excercise from it.
My favorite subject in homeschool would probably be health (good thing, because I plan on becoming a nurse). Science is pretty cool too, but physics annoys me, and I'm not very fond of chemistry. I really hate math, for all the boring numbers and calculations, and history, for having to practically memorize all the names and dates in the book. -_- Literature would be cool if only I didn't have to know the names of the authors. ^^; Grammar is pretty easy, yet tedious, and there are too many exceptions to the rules. Spelling is okay, I guess. I like learning the vocabulary words. I use A Beka for my curriculums.

Being a home schooling mom I love home schooling. However, I ask on this thread to refrain on knocking or belittling the public schools. We all learn in different ways and there are many wonderful teachers within the public school system and some wonderful kids here on CAA who are not home schooled.
That being said, I'd just like to add I'm thankful we are blessed to be able to home school our kids. ^___^

I hardly feel lonely anymore. I wouldn't want to be in public school, I am a loner too. I hardly had any friends, but then I started at a new youth group, it rocks now Ihave a lot of friends with the same basic belifes as me.
I love Literature and I hate spelling because I stink at it. so if I miss spell something here pleace feel free to corect me. Later.

My spelling also is horrible, but I never did well in that anyways... I also am not to great at science. Im currently in an astronomy course for PSEO but I have a feeling Im not gonna do to well in that because it has a ton more science in it than I thought it did...

*ahem* Been homeschooled K-12 and would never do it any other way. My dozen shall be homeschooled. Yes, every last one.
So, do we get a banner or something?
EDIT: A word to the wise. Don't run in the house while shod only in socks. Ever. Unless it is wall-to-wall carpeting.

<<A word to the wise. Don't run in the house while shod only in socks. Ever. Unless it is wall-to-wall carpeting.>>
*understands a great deal* ditto.
My best subject in school has always been, and forever will be, English and spelling. ^^ Not any English history, but just the englishy kinda stuff.
Oh, also gym.
Worst subjects: Well, I flunked geometry and had to take another kind of math course. Hope this doesn't hurt me too bad in college.
Also, Spanish was realllly hard for me. Oh well.

Huh.....the only downside to homeschooling for me is that my mom marks me as a person who is readily available for doing any extr chores. Ick.
