Hey Mods and Admins...can we do anything?

In light of CAA falling apart like the Millenium Falcon in the Empire Strikes Back, is there anything we CAA members can do to help you guys?

Do you know how to fix the problems, but money is an issue?

If so, I say we have a donation run here at CAA and we donate what we can so you guys will have the funds to fix it.

Rampant small stuff like this could lead to BIG problems later, and since all of us here are involved at CAA, what can we do to help you guys fix this?

I'll pray for you guys involving this, but let us know if there's ANYTHING we can do.

We have already decided that we will not ask members for donations in any way; we would like these forums to remain free for all. However, money is not an issue unless we want to buy a dedicated server.

But in terms of small things: use the Lite skin, don't upload large images or browse the gallerys too often. Please don't stop doing something you'd like to do because of this, however.

I appriciate everyone's concern and willing-ness to step out and give (which is always cool :thumb: ) but please trust me when I say the staff and I have been talking for MONTHS about this problem. We know the servers suck. We're doing the best we can to figure out what to do about it. We're not going to open up donations right now because that would mean keeping up with the legal issues of it, registering as a non-profit organization, etc etc. Lots of legal hassles. And as UC said, we want to keep it free for everyone. We've considered changing servers, buying more space, advertising--lots of stuff is in the air right now. What you CAN do to help us RIGHT NOW is follow what UC said, and think twice before making a complaining post or whiney pm. We're doing our best but you telling us things we already know isn't going to help us at all.

Well if in the future if some donations need to be made for more optimized servers for the websites' contents and massive user count, then I would certainly make a contribution. I would rather help a awesome Christian-based anime web site than donating money to my alma mater who don't need the money anyways.

Yeah like Zedian said if in the future there's a need for donations for more space then I'd also gladly contribute.

HEY HEY! IT may have fallen down! But in the end it helped destroy the death star! BOTH of them!

Thats like CAA, although it falls apart... it comes back to save the day! Because Mods are cool

No, we're absolutely not accepting donations, although the sentiments are always appreciated.

I havent heard of this caa sidebar. What is it like and what does it do exactly?

If moneys a problem you could put some ads on the site. They might be annoying, but it would probably help financially.

In any case I'll be praying for you and CAA :)

Advertising is still being discussed. We have not determined if that's the way we want to go.

No offense to Volt, who has spent a lot of time on his Sidebar, but it does need to be pointed out for the record that the Sidebar is his creation and not officially maintained by the mod and admin staff. That being said, if it works well for you, have fun.

If you're considering switching hosts or something, could those of us who have experience in this sort of thing, come together with all the different hosts we know of and try to find one that would suit CAA's needs?

Actually, there are a couple of us who either currently work professionally or used to work professionally in IT. It's a decision we'd rather make internally.

Uh....you guys know there is a way AROUND having to deal with the Federal Government. It's legal too, my accounting prof told me about it.

If you want to know more, PM me mods.

And, if YOU guys don't want to deal with the registering with the govt and stuff, but in the end will have to. I'LL HANDLE THAT STUFF THEN. I'll have to sooner or later when I start my business. Besides, I love politics. ^_^

There are other reasons besides that. It's not going to change for the foreseeable future.
