Woe unto the Pretty Ones

its just a little thing I've been thinking about...you know how people (girls in particular) would usually like to be prettier or look better than they do. Just wanted to say, "Being pretty sucks." I loathe having guys stare at my butt and/or honk at me while I walk to the bus stop. It used to be flattering, then amusing, now just plain irritating. And some guys only like to hang around me cause of how I look--I became friends with a guy who was an anime fan, but then later I found out that he was hanging out with me and following me around school just because I looked like his ex-girlfriend.

So be proud of your huge nose, bug-eyes or lovehandles. you might want them back.

It's not the being pretty that's the problem. It's the guys who honk/stare/stalk that are the problem. (Not that there are any of them here. . . necessarily. ;) )

God gave beauty as a gift. It's the society that's made it a bit of a scourge.

But I can understand your frustration. I'm not the prettiest little thing around, but I get my share of honking and cat-calls. Ob.nox.ious.

Right on Mangafanatic!
And to any guys reading this post please remember don't honk/stair/or hang out with a girl just because of there looks; not that I am saying that any of you do.

Big sweatshirts and baggy pants. :thumb:

But I agree with Osaka. ^^; It's sad that our society has turned a God-given gift into something so shallow that people are so willing to take advantage of. Next time you see someone staring, do something incurably weird. I hear that's a turn off.

I wouldn't know. FIrst off, I'm not pretty, and B) I am also male. I *REALLY* hope no guys are staring at me.

Oh! I've wanted to do this for ages. I want to notice some guy is staring, look away, and then look back and cross my eyes and stick my tongue out. Oh, that would be so fun!!

. . . but I'm a coward, and I never do it.

Not all guys are like that. But yes, unforuntanetly will live in a Fallen world. But beauty is a blessing from God.

Yeah, not being pretty is the problem as what one user said, its just the people are so close minded as they look at the looks of a person and not what is side of them.

This is a sad problem with our society today. The sad thing is, its just not men that do it, but women too that will act shallow for just liking someone for looks, when they need to like a person for what is side them. I only fear, what will happen if they keep thinking like this as the years go by.

I have turn down alot by women, because of my looks. But I think I hate it more when guys do that to ladies.

I'm happy as what I look like, because this how God made me. The only thing that I wish that I could change about myself is not having Lipoatrophy or facial wasting.

That is one part of me that I don't like to look at my face.

Ive done that. For some reason it doesn't work.

I wear guys' clothes, same result.

FRUMPY clothes, same result.

I do (try to) disturbingly stare back. Of course this does not help when people are driving by at 40 mph.

Incurably weird, eh? Maybe I should pick my nose...

 My friends and I get whistled at when we walk to lunch sometimes, so I either a) don a goofy expression, take my pants and pull them aaalll the way up past my bellybutton b) fall to the ground and pretend to have a seizure while screaming "AHHHH! THE SUN! IT BURNS!" or c) scream "YOU'RE JUST JEALOUS BECAUSE THE VOICES DON'T TALK TO YOU!"

Hey that's happened to me once... guess I'm pretty enough. I was with a friend, and we were getting gas at the station... Some Mexican guy was talking to me and I didn't even notice. I looked at him a few times. "Crap! He's trying to get my attention!" I ignored him after that. For some reason it didn't really boost my self esteem. I was so weirded out. My friend laughed at me... One time I was in Reno, like last year, and my grandma and I were at the cross walk. When the light turned green a guy in a hot car shot past, and really put the gas on when he passed us. "I wonder why he did that?" I said. "It certainly wasn't done for ym benefit," Grandma laughed. "OH!" #^^;;;;

Yeah, being pretty isn't the problem, though not being pretty does have its pros.

I've never had a guy look at me like that, my face is mostly hidden by my hair (and I do it purposely) and I doubt any guy would look at me <.< >.>

And He's my Bro's best friend...(why cant he stick with jocks??) so he dresses like that too.

I feel pretty
Oh so pretty
I feel pretty and witty and bright
And I pity
Any girl who isn`t me tonight
I feel charming
Oh so charming
It`s alarming how charming I feel
And so pretty
that I hardly can believe I`m real

See the pretty girl in the mirror there?
Who can that attractive girl be?
Such a pretty face
Such a pretty dress
Such a pretty smile
Such a pretty me
I feel stunning
And entrancing
Feel like running
And dancing for joy
For I`m loved
By a pretty wonderful boy

Y'all are complaining about being pretty, try going through life being called ugly or being made fun of because of your physical traits. As much as people may stare at least, deep down you gotta like that fact that people actually find y'all attractive.

Sorry, it really gets to me when I see "good" looking people complain b/c it's not all cracked up to what it seems. I say just be happy you look the way you do, not everyone has the previlage of feeling "pretty."

I'm not saying it's okay for guys to do those things because it isn't. It just seems all vain to me, just appreciate what you have because complaining about it just makes others who may be less fortunate feel like crude.

<<Hitokiri's post>>

:eyebrow:riiiiiiiiight...

Seriously though, to ALL the girls out there:

I see a girl from the inside, not the outside. It is so true that I have seen guys who whistle and gaze upon women the wrong way. It does sicken me. I sometimes wish those shovinistic guys would be gentle and kind and not hoot and holler at an oncoming at a girls outer parts for once, it's just wrong.

Also to the girls who dress inappropriately, that also makes me sick. I can't stand seeing a girl walking around with a skirt so high, you can see her underwear...not to say that has ever happened before...but that's maybe what's going to happen. I don't know when and I hope never.

Boys should be gentlemen...girls should dress proper.

I am a gentlemen and a nice guy inside and out, and I bet every guy here is the same as me...I hope.

Here ladies, I have a nice rose to show my compassion and respect for ALL of you:

:: is scared::

Guys....READ EVERY WORD OF THIS THREAD CAREFULLY!!!!

Especially those of us who are girl illiterate. This is like reading an ancient scroll giving us the secrets of the universe.

...also, it's scary for us guys when girls gather like this. We've ticked off the female race enough gentlemen. Let's stop giving them reason to.

Lord God, PLEASE help us stop ticking off women and degrading them so much.

Also, I understand the anger we men feel...especially those of us who have been apparently shunned by all manner of females. We think "Gosh gee. you have al members of the opposite gender flocking to you. Wish we had YOUR problems."

But guys, let's not throw a pity party for ourselves and think "LET'S GET SOME REVENGE ON ALL THE GIRLS WHO SHUNED US!!! EAT DIRT!!!"
Guys, let's be better than that. Realize that God is in control of all thigns, and some of us have no doubt deserved a lady giving us the cold shoulder in how we approached her.

Let's just pursue friendship :: Conscience in the form of Jiminy Crickett looks at me:: ok...better make sure I tell you guys I've struggled with this too, so as I don't look like a hypocrite. :: Jiminy nods in approval and returns to Mickey Mouse land::.

Anyhow, just get to know a girl. Remember she's a person too, talk to her about normal stuff. However, don't talk TOO much. Girls like people who LISTEN to them. So be a listener and TRY to avoid talkign about yourself alot. Talk about her.

That's my two cents.

thank God that there are nice guys like the ones here out in the world.
^^
ah, the joys of being at college... some girls and i from my floor went to a movie together, got cat-called at on the way there, and cursed at on the way back by guys in vehicals... *shakes head* i usually ignore the creeps when they're at a distance.

but when they're closer up, my reflex dork reaction kicks in, utterly repelling them... (sadly, there's nothing brave about it, lol, i'm just a dork, and when people pay attention to me that aspect comes out more than normal). in high school a creepy guy in my drafting class said something along the lines of "looking good." i had graphite all over my hands, and was in the process of cleaning them off on my pants, and as soon as he said what he did, my hands popped up and i spit in them to further clean them off, and said, "huh?" (totally spur of the moment, wasn't planned at all ^^). but, he didn't bug me much after that... lol XD. laughing obnoxiously ("Eh, HEe, HEe Hee!!... *snort*) also tends to be a quick creep turn-off.

of all the, erm, immodest fashions of the moment, the one i'm really not a fan of isthe inch of thong fad going on right now. so what if you're a cute girl? crack is never appealing. :shady:

Cephas, you beat me to it. A big repeat of everthing he said. Too many times do guys get wrapped up in the physical. It really is very sad how easily we guys can fall into this.
