Looks like you're incredibly annoyed by non-Christians bothering you but that message might provoke more people than it might scare them off. And it does project that you are a nasty person if you ask me. And unintelligent (which you most certainly are not). I'd rather not use it because it might give people the wrong idea about you.

Perhaps what might allieviate your frustration is a renewed mindset to the world. Trust me, I get that way too; I get real fed up with the new age God is A Myth and it's ok whatever you believe as long as it isn't Christianity crap I put up with in college, or get frustrated in how Christians can sometimes be so blind and hypocritical.
And then God reminds me that I was just as lost as they were. That Christians are works in progress. That when Jesus looked into a crowded marketstreet, he was physically moved with compassion for them "because they were scattered like sheep without a shepherd" with the wolves close by. And that THAT is the kind of heart and attitude I should have towards others.

I have problems with that as wel, being called "narrow-minded" and "a slave to a concept". Christinanity isn't a religion but a relationship but they brush that off. I have alot of goth, stoner, and stanaic friends sadly (as well as alot of Chrstian friends which balances it out thankfully). It does get tiring and sometimes my "superior" Christian thiking takes over and I think "Why do I hang out with these guys. All they do is mock my beliefs and try to force thier apagnistic views on me". However God just keeps on throwing the fact that Jesus cared for and "hung out" with sinners of every kind. Score One for God.
One thing I hate is one of my friends whoose a extreme vegan doesn't allow me to eat meat in front of her and says I am a sinner for owning pets 0_o
As for your sig Volt, are you talking about the spirtual ornage sig you have right now? I'm sorta confused.

I've got friends like that too. Friends who are wiccan. Friends who are gay. I respect that they're different and what they believe in, but i wonder why they cant show me the same respect that i show them. It's tough, but ive made christian friends since joining this site so that evens it out. We've just got to do our best really.

I'm not going to preach with anger, but it's time to show these "spiritual whores" that they can't shove Hentai, and Lemons, and tarot cards, and ouiji boards in my face and mock me. Simply said, "freinds DO NOT do that to other freinds", if anyone would like to continue doing so... **** off. You're no freind of mine.
Good for you that you're willing to fight for your (or indeed, our) beliefs but don't go about it in such a barbaric way telling them to shove it where the sun don't shine (or use any four-letter words). I think that if you simply tell them that friends do not mock their own friends should make your point clear enough because they might be hurt by what they conceive to be narrow-mindedness but that is no excuse for either you or them to hurt you back. It has obviously caused a gulf between you and them which could have been avoided since they provoked you by asking if you wanted a reading (although it could have been innocent in itself, mind you)
You should call your friends narrow-minded for believing everyone who doesn't agree with them or share their view are automatically narrow-minded because that seems to be an automated response to christian views these days and that maybe they should try being a little less cliché. Tell them that you have never threatened to burn them on a stake or deliver them to the Grand Inquisition or anything as ridiculous as that and that you've been tolerant which they certainly have not been.
It says somewhere in the Bible (I'm terrible with numbers
) that you should make your opponents "red with shame". If they really are your friends that is exactly what they should be.

Oh believe me Volt, I know how you feel. The site that I liked to go to BEFORE I found this one, made me so mad. It was a art site where you could post pics that you drew, or ones that you liked, it was a lot like the forum here. But the more I was on it the more I seen sin running rampant there. One day I was reviewing a pic that a girl did. It was of a little guy with a cross on his t-shirt. And this one girl started going off about how that cross OFFENDED her and she totally started flaming the pic, and God. I wanted to stay out of it. My hart said “Is that the kind of Christian you are? “Will you just set in the corner and let Jesus be put down like that?â€

Ironically its based on something from a fictional book by Chesterton.
[quote="Chesterton in "The Man who was Thursday""]The President acknowledged this proximity by coming to the back of the car, bowing repeatedly, kissing his hand, and finally flinging a neatly-folded note into the bosom of Inspector Ratcliffe. When that gentleman opened it, not without impatience, he found it contained the words:
“Fly at once. The truth about your trouser-stretchers is known.—A FRIEND.â€

Hey Bigsleep! Have any experience to share? Maybe we could learn from it. I mean you seem like a pretty level headed guy. And I did read what you said before, but you didn’t talk about "your" experiences with this kind of thing. Am I being to nosy? If so just kick me.

Hmmmm. First time I've been called "level-headed."
No experiences, unfortunately (which explains why I didn't talk about them) to the calibur of Volt's situation. I just offered my oppinion. I have a friend, though, who is something of a Christian (for one thing he has a tremendous dislike for churches, mostly because he's had his share of rather materialistic churches who like to flaunt their wealth) but we don't try each other's patience by forcing our point-of-views on each other (some of his are decidedly dodgy, though). I say I like CS Lewis and GK Chesterton and he says he loves Hunter S Tompson and William Rice Burroughs. We read to each other and we share our views on poetry, literature and movies. But we don't let our contrasting views clash too much (clash in the sense of wanting to strangle each other but rather respect these views). I do believe that this method has done him more good than just letting him stew in his dodgy ideas by himself. We like to keep our discussions civil so I have never experienced anything like Volt's predicament.
Edit: I do think we might offend each other but we don't take it personally.
And, ILoveArt, public forums like these we all have the right to be nosey.

It's ok to stand up for your faith and beliefs yet be loving. I see nothing wrong against that.
It's hard tough to tell your un-christian friends about your beliefs and Jesus but hard trying to actually witness to them when they dont want to hear it.
I have a friend that I see on occassion now since we're in college who seriously think's he's the Anti-Christ. I had to stop hanging around him cause he'd spew blasphemous statements about Christ and God and stuff. I had to get out of the situation cause of that. That might be a solution.

Sometimes you have to work your way up to Christianity, demonstrate that everyone believes in some absolute values. It drives some of them crazy when you point out that "not being judgemental" and "all cultural values are equally valid" means that not even the Nazis or the Spanish Inquisition can be denounced for what they did. ("You disagree? So you DO believe in some external source of values")
Granted, some people don't listen to reason and are just obstinate, but I do find it useful to put them on the defense, looking at their own beliefs instead of attacking yours.
THIS book is one of my favorites in showing how you sometimes need to argue when the other party will not listen to anything involving the words "God", "Christ" "Good" or "Evil."
If it seems too philosophical with not enough attention to Jesus,
THIS is another book demonstratng the defense of Christianity against people who think the Bible is just a bunch of made up stories...

I too, have friends in such a matter, most of which claim to be Christians, but then turn around and gain up on me when I say "God says that is wrong, or the Bible says we shouldnt do this." You know..I dont have one friend...who is as in touch with their Christianity as I am. I feel so alone. I realized how alone i was when My language arts teacher was demonstrationg some examples of and explantory writing assignment. For fun he asked us..what we thought of certain subjects. I dreded what he said next. "Should people involved in a gay relationship be able to get married?"...The whole class answered in a resounding.."Yes!!", out of roughly 30 students...I alone did not answer..I was afraid because I feared that I would be the only one to say no, and I was right. Not having youre friends agree with you on large issues such as religion, and morals takes a big toll on you...me especially. Its very hard to have friends who are non-Christian or "loose" in their faith. Ive become severely depressed over worring about the salvation of my friends. Most of us split apart when we went to highschool this year, but we're still in touch. But the things they've been telling me they did, or want to do are scary. I dont know If this is considered off topic or not but since some people have been realting to Volts situation, I thought it would be ok to post here. And if its not too much trouble, Id like to ask for your prayers. I feel very alone and I want God to help me not to be so depressed. So again, If it's not too much trouble, pray for me?...And as for you going through the same thing I'll pray for you. If any one would like to talk further feel free to pm me. I'll be happy to talk to anyone.

Hey Trigun4life (besides that fact i love yoru sn ^_^) heh
i understand where your coming from...i think everyone (meaning majority of Christian's who are still in school) have had, have, or around those who are non Christians or advertly against being a christian like Gothic, Wiccans or satanisms to name a few...
I think it's hard too...i think we all think that. WE all know the frustration of being and discussing with our friends about God, with them poking and prodding and looking for a weakness in our answer so they can declare triumphantly that they are right and our faith is bogus!
But i think the same people can teach us so much as well...when they challenge you God says rejoice Why? in my opinion becuase you can learn about why they believe what they believe, what's holding them back from a relationship with Jesus and maybe you can use some of that to steer a conversation towards him or use it as material to help relate Jesus to them.
For instance, i used to be into witchcraft...after i accepted Jesus i hung out with alot of Wiccans and the like... at first, they tried hard and heavy to get me to convert to their religion again....I politely said no..they insisted day after day saying why theirs was better...eventually we would get into full blown heated debates...them always thinking i'm some ignorant narrowminded religious zealot and me : just frustrated having to deal with it.. one even asked how i didn't know God was a desk? 0_o;;; lol
anways, we are going to face adversary in the form of the human being...why? cuz if it was in the form of a demon and we KNEW it was Satan then we would be calmly rebuking him...however, humans are too much like us *us being the general Christians just as a point of reference* that we fail to see how Satan uses humans to : 1.) cause arguments, 2.) break faith 3.) create doubt or the effect will be the entire opposite.
I agree it's hard...sometimes i just wanna slap a non christian and be like : WAKE UP! but i dont' *heheh besides suing is a nice incentive *wink* * ...instead looke at them like you were...look at them lost, trying to fit in, not knowing teh truth and wanting it to be easy to have nothing to be responsible for...with God creates responsibility and that's the hard way...most don't want that ^_^ anways lol they were my thoughts ^^
if you agree, cool ^^ if not then cool ...people think different ways regarding things so you can always learn something from other people no matter the age ^^

Hey I totally agree with people wanting to be on "easy street". They wanna be able to do whatever the heck they want without God telling them not to, or having to feel guilty about it. Last night I had a fight with an internet friend about sin and goign to heaven and hell. The point was that she was doing something she wasnt supose to and wouldnt give it up, and she didnt care about going to hell. She said well what about all the good things ive done, ill go to hell for that one little thing. And i said well its not just a little sin, God doesnt see all the good things we do with seeing all the bad things, and so on I told her God has to separate from our sins..and they only way for us to go to heaven is through jesus. But she rejected it and tried to give me a guilt a trip about not accepting her and that "Im not God". I know im not God....but He said not to do what she was doing and that im not supose to accept it. She said she didnt wanna talk about it anymore, so basically once again I was told to "shut up". This is where Gods says...to well "shut up". Its called throwing pearls before swine. So i said to her I dont care what you do go ahead and do it.but i wont have any part of it and I got off the internet. See this is where my next problem comes in. I have this addiction to worrying and anxiety. I worry about everything. Mostly other people, and its almost liek i take on these peopel problems. When I think about how these peopel lack faith and salvation, i know (and to be quite blunt) their on a road to hell. I dont want anyone to have to...experience that and it tears me up that some of these people..including the person I mentioned above..are aware they have sinned, and are aware that if they dont repent will not go to heaven, and STILL dont care! It eats me up inside, why people can do this and not care about going to hell. I think their problem is. They have NO idea how bad hell is and are just completely ignorant to the severity of their actions. I tend to care about people who dont realize it, or dont care, or well dont deserve it, and thats whats gets me into such a big mess. Im praying for God to either take the blinders off these people's eyes or get them out of my life and bring me people who love him the way I do. This is big problem that needs to be fixed, but can only be done so with His grace.
Anyway lol thanks girlnija I enjoyed listening to your experiences heh theyll help me with my own. Like I said I agree with you, and you'll be in my prayers.
