There is a boat in a bay with a rope ladder hanging off the side of it. There are 30 rungs on the ladder, and 12 inches between each of the rungs. 5 of the rungs are below the water and 25 are above. The surf rises exactly 6 inches every hour. In 5 hours, how many rungs will be below the water??

a man on the 30th story of his apartment was cooking. Suddenly there was a fire! he called 911 and the fire department told him to... run downstairs. Now this man had a few posessions he had to take, incase the fire destroyed them. He had to take: His child, his hat (a memento from his deceased wife) and his Bible. Unfortunately he could carry only 2 thigns.

Later, he got out of his apartment with all 3 belongings. And he didn't make any round trips. How did he do it?

Right. Two commanders fought an intense battle for a powerful object that would mean voctory for the commander who got the object and knew how to use it.

Commander A was defending the object and doing research on how to use it, while Commander B has already researched the object and was trying to take it from Commander A. Both of the commanders knew that if one of them had the object and also knew how to use it then that commander would win the entire war. The objects power was that great.

Commander A came up with am ingenius plan that meant that he would be certain to win the battle. How is this possible? Is it even possible? What was Commander A's plan?
