First http://www.dictionary.com can be a very useful tool. If you need to know meanings of words, what better place would you goto?

Second, if you need to memorize things try to word association or for really long lists try using acronyms. But to be honest, from personal experience the best way to remember things is just to buckle down for a long time and go over it a million times.
I've tried a million tricks and by far the best way is to just sit down and study. Are are a million tricks, but even those take time to memorize.

A tip I've learned from my beloved science teacher is to condense definitions to about 4 words or less if you can. It works.

PS: Spychology? Is that the study of how secret agents think? ^_~

I think the tips already given are good ones. Once you get the definitions from a psychology text or dictionary/online dictionary, you should hopefully find some that are pretty straightforward/self-explanatory. Get the easy ones down first and fast, the ones that you can remember simply by the term. I've found cues or mnemonics more helpful for technical terms or names, you might use them for the names. Then for the really tough ones, where it may be difficult to form an association between the term and the definition, I'd go with what agasfas said. Concentrate your time on just going over those, rote memorizing them. Make flashcards or two sets of cards with terms and definitions to match them. Once you've successfully gotten a definition matched to term several times, take it out. Even it down to the tougher ones and go over them repeatedly. Hope this helps! I'll pray for you.
