My first anime convention (Jan 2004)

Postby agasfas » Tue Dec 07, 2004 2:27 pm

Ealier today I was cleaning my room and I found my old disposable camera. I wondered what was on it so I took it my my local grocery store and had a phot cd made. WIsh I had a digital camera :(.
Anyways I thought it might be cool to upload a few pictures I have taken. These pictures where taken at Ushi-con Jan 30, 2004.
Also, I was wondering if anyone else out there had pictures from their first anime convention. Well anyways, here are a few pictures.

#1) Aquateen Hunger Force cup playing ddr....
I'm not a fan of the show, though I found it quite amusing... Judge for yourself.

#2) My friend Leah cosplaying from someone from battle angel. My crush from 8th-10th grade. Good thing we bumped into each other there, this is where I decided to move on with my life (crush wise) and let go of things that where not meant to be.

Wh-- I see a bunch of cosplayers, and one guy who looks just like that-- oh what's his name-- oh yeah, that Agafas fella. Man, that kid looks just like him. Scary. :eh: Lol.

I wish it were closer up. I can't see you every well!!!! *squints* Nope, still too small.

Oh yeah, and that guy cosplaying as a cup. Priceless.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I figured y'all would like that. It was just so random, it was plain hilarious. Dedicated especially for all of those DDR fans out there.

Gypsy was the one to teach me the way of the DDR in her basement one cold week in March when a texan was very, very far north. I'm not nearly as good as her, but I do enjoy it. Don't let agasfas brag on me too much, I'm not that good. ;)

Anyway, nice pics Agasfas. ^^

All hail the cup!

That's a nice Ebisu there in #3. I've never seen anybody do him, let alone do him well.

A friend of mine hit Ushi-con. You didn't by any chance see a really loud Miroku, did you?

SO, how did the soft drink do? A cup dancing to DDR is a strange thought, but if it did really well, well that'd be just hillarious.

Come to think, I believe he out danced almost everyone there. Plus I'm sure it was hard to see outside the cup, i dont' remember any eye holes. I'm sure he had a screen over the mouth area to look out. Anyways, that guy was on fire dancing circles around people. Kind of like watching riverdancing... To fast for me. Probably would have gave Gypsy a run for her money ;)
