(I don't know if this fits in this category, mods, please move it to the appropriate category if it doesn't)
Hey all, I just want to pass this news around to anyone interested:
Enter COMIX35’s new Christian Comics Contest, which is open to all Christian comics producers around the world, both professionals and amateurs.
Two cash prizes of US$ 1200.00 (professional) and US$ 800.00 (amateur) will be awarded for the best original, short comics featuring messages that are evangelistic or demonstrate Christian discipleship and are appealing and understandable to a non-Christian audience.
The two winning comics, and the rest of the best material (as determined by a panel of judges), will be printed in a 100+ page book which will be distributed worldwide to publishers, the media, and other Christian comics producers.
The Christian Comics Contest will provide many benefits to the Body and to the advancement of the Kingdom by aiding Christian comics producers and Christian publishers, raising media and market awareness about Christian comics, and increasing unchurched people’s understanding of the Gospel and Christian discipleship.
The deadline for all Contest submissions is 31 March 2005.
Lord willing, the Christian Comics Contest will be held as a biannual event.
Please visit our web site for all the rest of the details:

Go read the details and rules of the contest before asking more questions, they pretty much said all that needs to be said. Anyone who wants to join, God Bless!! ^^

Awesome! Now I just have to think of an idea for a short comic.

I read through the details but something is still a little unclear to me. How many pages is this supposed to be? 1-4 pages only?
Forgive me if it was stated clearly...I'm a little brain dead today.
Thanks Ann, this is certainly very interesting and encouraging. Hmm...we could do something on behalf of CAA..

Yep, it's 1-4 pages only. I would guess if the artist chooses to, one of those pages can be a cover as long as the artist submits 1-4 pages total. ^^
And hey, having a "CAA Team" would be nice! I'm probably going to go solo--if I decide to join--but I would love to help out if such a team is formed if you guys need any. ^^

*sigh* And me without an idea, as usual. ;__;

Hmm, sounds like fun. These rules seem to me to be ripe grounds for a parable, which our Lord used when He wished to teach important concepts, and often packed in a limited amount of time to teach them.

*reads rules again* oohh multiple submissions allowed...
Hey, Inky! Don't worry, there's still time. We'll all think of something and help each other.
I know someone who was already thinking ahead with something like this. *pokes Ash*

Yeah! Maybe we should just go ahead and form a team...kinda brainstorm back and forth until we come up with some ideas. I was kinda playing with an "idea" such as it is, but I'm more an artist than a writer anymore...O.o And I never could write a short piece to save my life. So...*cough* Anyone with an idea fill in here...XD XD

Shoot... yeah... a team would be cool. I need a writer or... maybe I can do a proverb of some sort, I've heard of some good things beign done with those.
Edit: Must be appealing to a secular audience... proverbs not really looking good there... shoot. Whats the entry fee?

There is no entry fee, as far as I know.

Yeah we should come up with some sort of CAA manga board with artists, writers, and brainstormers (< is that a word?) It would be really cool to make several stories you know like each artists draws one and has a support team of writers and brainstormers. I don’t know lol just something to think about

That would be cool...I'd help out with that...
Now if only we had an idea...LOL...

Yeah... we do need to have a CAA artists brainstorming session... then pick out stories frome the session to work on.
Donno what I was thinking with the fee... too tired to be thinking probably, and too hungry.

I think I might have an idea. I'll PM you with it, Ink, once I can get it all typed up -- though it may not be until a little later. (That way it won't be seen by the trolls. ^_~ )

Yeah I have several ideas to. With the whole plot thought out just not anything in writing yet
I'm not sure if anyone would even want to use one of my ideas though lol
I could probably make some basic concept design to but that’s about it for me. I’m just to busy to even attempt drawing a manga -_-

Hmm...
We kinda need a place to jot down our ideas away from the board, don't we...XD

Yes I do believe your correct Ink, the question now is where?

Hm. Well, a four page maximum is rather restrictive. I only skimmed the rules/guidelines, but I take it that it is meant to be a spotlight of a longer work?
Well, anyone who knows me knows that I have too many ideas. I probably shouldn't give an open invitation, but I'd be happy to help anyone in any way I can. Obviously, help in terms of ideas or writing, not art.
