What do you do when you have the "Angry-Sadness-Depressive-Stressed" feeling

Postby RoyalWing » Mon Nov 29, 2004 6:46 pm

Imagine if someone you know is depressed. But this depression is different, it's more an angry kind that you feel like screaming and violent, with a bit of the sleepy, "don't want to do anything" kind. This person has been feeling this odd feeling inside of them for almost a month, each time they think they're fine, it comes back.

What do you tell to someone who is feeling this? What do you suggest to them to make them feel better?

I would first talk to them and hear what they have to say while trying to help as much as I can. Try to give them a hug and pray for them. Just reassure them they are loved.

Also, Alexthestampede that comment was uncalled for and a inappropriate.

Pray. Love that person. That's really the sum of all you can do.

That person can think carefully about what they think triggers these feelings. If it's a certain setting or event, they can try to avoid it. But in the end, prayer is gonna do the most good. Powerful stuff, that prayer.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Pray for them most of all!
I know this feeling as I used to suffer something similar. I just slept alot and yelled at people, but I know you have to get help. I'm good now, but they need to talk to someone who can understand them and make them less anxious and depressed.

Christian's can't be possessed. But we most definetly can be oppressed by demons and this is part of being a Christian, our minds and souls are a battlefield for Satan and his demons versus Jesus and His angels.

I'd just say, be a good friend and make sure you are there for them if they want to talk ^^ Also, I've found that music and writing really help me... they should find a way to let out some of their emotions in a healthy way.

I do beleive in them, because I've had em before, whenever you've got an exhagerated feeling or emotion that is uncontrolable and seems to apear out of no-where, you got some demon infestation going on.

The only thing you can do is express EXTREME self control and face the spirits, when they make you feel a sertain way say "this is NOT me, and I refuse to accept this behavoir", alway always pray about it.

Demons like moving from Person to Person, like the flu... Which is why if you meat a freind who's addicted to porn chances are his addictions will slowly follow and tempt you. There's a reason why the saying goes "you are who you hang out with"

Um.....I don't like to start flame wars or nothing so please don't take this personally
But first of all telling someone they got a demon is going to sounds really bad.
Secondly something like that isn't necessarily always a demon possession...there is a very big difference!
Yes a person may be under oppression of demons, many Christian go through that but not demon possession. The examples you brought up are usually not demon possession especially if you a born again Christian. Just because you fall for temptation in your example of porn doesn't mean you are demon possessed. Are you under attack? Definitely! But that doest mean you have a dark spirit inside you, if so that means many Christian people in the Bible where demon possessed and almost every Christian today!
Usually if a person is demon possessed you can "feel" it just by being around them...and they act extremely different.

Alright my advice RoyalWing would be to continually pray for this person everyday! Wake up in the morning and say a quick prayer for them before you do anything else. Talk to them, comfort them in any way you know how, and just generally be their for them. Probably the most important thing you can do for them is remind them how special they are, that Jesus went to the cross just for them, even if they where the only person on the planet he would have done it. He loves you so much that he gave his very life for you! All the tears, all the pain, all the sweat, just for you. Because you matter to him, because he loves you and has made you in his very own image, you are the most important thing to him. Nothing absolutely nothing will keep his love from you:)...I hope that helps :thumb: I have to stop there anyway or my vision will start to get to misty lol

i've been there... the dark, depressed, angry, screeming deely. the best thing you can do for someone in that situation is love unconditionally, listen without end, DO NOT lie to them just to make them feel better (it destories their trust in anyone and anything), if you don't care, or don't want to get involved, don't bother... also, be open to any kind of emotion... anger, tears, most likely they just need something to vent at. prayer is the best thing, then to follow up, make sure you're there if they need you later. it helped me. these are just some thoughts.

Yes, it's more "I feel like ripping someone's head off their shoulders" instead of "I feel like lying on the floor all day".

And prayer is not working

Pray and talk to God. Pour your heart out to Him and read the Bible, preferably Psalms. God has so much to say man, remember that "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son..."

It's not working!! No matter what I say to him, I say everything, and nothing is better! He has nothing to say! I am stuck with this thing all the time! Whenever I'm happy it comes to ruin it!!

I am so tired of everything, whenenver something good happens a mountain of bad things come to ruin it. Whenever I try to improve myself, the opportunity always come to ruin it, and I never can realize I completely ruined until after I did something so very bad! You can't go and undo it, what happens if one day God decides not to forgive me anymore. I'm sure that will happen, because I keep going into a cycle, I'll never be a good person.
I wish I could take a break, but it's not possible! What will I say to my parents, "I am depressed?" they'll just laugh. I hate them, I hate the people at school who always judge me, but mostly I hate myself, I am the most stupid person in the world. A failure ugly thing. I go on this board, and ask the stupidest questions, that everyone else knows and that is so obvious to know. I embarass myself every time I talk, just like now. I am exploding in public. Simply wonderful.
I don't know what to do, I don't even know why I feel like this anymore.

Psalm 44 (this sounds something like what you are going through)

For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. A maskil.
1 We have heard with our ears, O God;
our fathers have told us
what you did in their days,
in days long ago.
2 With your hand you drove out the nations
and planted our fathers;
you crushed the peoples
and made our fathers flourish.
3 It was not by their sword that they won the land,
nor did their arm bring them victory;
it was your right hand, your arm,
and the light of your face, for you loved them.

4 You are my King and my God,
who decrees victories for Jacob.
5 Through you we push back our enemies;
through your name we trample our foes.
6 I do not trust in my bow,
my sword does not bring me victory;
7 but you give us victory over our enemies,
you put our adversaries to shame.
8 In God we make our boast all day long,
and we will praise your name forever.
Selah

9 But now you have rejected and humbled us;
you no longer go out with our armies.
10 You made us retreat before the enemy,
and our adversaries have plundered us.
11 You gave us up to be devoured like sheep
and have scattered us among the nations.
12 You sold your people for a pittance,
gaining nothing from their sale.

13 You have made us a reproach to our neighbors,
the scorn and derision of those around us.
14 You have made us a byword among the nations;
the peoples shake their heads at us.
15 My disgrace is before me all day long,
and my face is covered with shame
16 at the taunts of those who reproach and revile me,
because of the enemy, who is bent on revenge.

17 All this happened to us,
though we had not forgotten you
or been false to your covenant.
18 Our hearts had not turned back;
our feet had not strayed from your path.
19 But you crushed us and made us a haunt for jackals
and covered us over with deep darkness.

20 If we had forgotten the name of our God
or spread out our hands to a foreign god,
21 would not God have discovered it,
since he knows the secrets of the heart?
22 Yet for your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.

23 Awake, O Lord! Why do you sleep?
Rouse yourself! Do not reject us forever.
24 Why do you hide your face
and forget our misery and oppression?

25 We are brought down to the dust;
our bodies cling to the ground.
26 Rise up and help us;
redeem us because of your unfailing love.

Psalms 72 (remeber this)
12 For he will deliver the needy who cry out,
the afflicted who have no one to help.
13 He will take pity on the weak and the needy
and save the needy from death.
14 He will rescue them from oppression and violence,
for precious is their blood in his sight.

18 Praise be to the LORD God, the God of Israel,
who alone does marvelous deeds.
19 Praise be to his glorious name forever;
may the whole earth be filled with his glory.
Amen and Amen.

Ok let me ask you this have you ever read the book of Job if not, I recommended you do so. You see Job lost everything in a single day. He lost his wife, his sons all died, his entire fortune was gone, he developed disease, and was no longer considered a high ranking individual. Talk about having a bad day! Job cried out to the Lord continually but he didn't receive an answer for quite some time. But when he did it was amazing not only did God give him back everything he lost, but more even! There are going to be hard times in life in fact maybe that's all you have ever known but you have to keep on fighting, keep on crying out to the Lord, and keep on striving for a better tomorrow. If you do that I can guarantee that God will hear you and raise you up out of your pit of oppression, maybe not now, maybe not even a year from now but eventually the day will come and because all that you have gone through you will be fulfilled like nothing else. And then you will truly know God up close and personal and it will be amazing beyond your wildest dreams! :angel:
