My article on fornication

YES! On tuesday it was published and distributed! Everyone was like "this article's gay" or "retarded" some called me "queer" but some had actual questions. I got some praise from some teachers, and even from some students. God's so gonna impact the school somehow

for those who still refused, i did my part (doesnt mean i haveta stop though) but now it's their choice

GOD! DO SOMETHING AWESOME!

heres the final article:

A problem with teenagers who describe themselves as Christian is that
they believe that pre-marital sex and fornication – sex between
unmarried people – is not a sin. But in Matthew 15 illicit sex is
listed along with murder, adultery, theft, false witness, and slander.

Many teens have a mindset that pre-marital sex is okay because
"everyone else is doing it", thus believing that since the times have
changed, we should just go with the flow. Although the times have
changed, God's Law has not. In Mark 7, Jesus warns against setting
aside the commands of God in order to observe our own traditions.
Jesus rebuked people who held to their own "traditions" rather than to
God's Law.

People in this school say things regarding on girls' looks, from
admiration, "Oh, she's pretty," to lust, "Yeah, she's really hot. I'd
do her." In Matthew 5:28, Jesus said: "You have heard what it was said
'Do not commit adultery.' But I tell you that anyone who looks at a
woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
Jesus hints to us that the weight of the sin against a woman's dignity
is just as heavy, whether you are married or not.

Lust takes away the dignity of those involved. Those who view porn
commit lust and spiritually hurt themselves. Women are not objects,
but are God's creation. Sex is something that God created, but it is
only meant for after marriage. Society has twisted people into
believing in God's Law in a different way.

If you, as of now, decide to follow God's way, know this: "No
temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is
faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your strength, but
with the temptation will also provide the way of escape, that you may
be able to endure it" (1 Cor 10:13). I am not writing this as a
hammer, but as an invitation to reflect, and to make changes.

woot!!!!!!

I thank you for sticking to your guns and fighting for the truth. These scoffers may now give you and your writing such kindly titles, but remember, the day will come sooner or later, when they will realize that it was the truth.

Great job, Mr. SP! ^______^ I like your re-write and it was a great closing at the end - short and sweet. ~_^

Us girls appreciate that kind of thing. Somehow, guys tend to think (or like to think) that females want to be objectified and that there's something totally wrong with a girl who doesn't want sex. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that all those negative comments came from boys. The article itself was nicely written, concise and to the point.

But on a more personal note, thank you for your godly love and respect for women...that's the least "gay" thing I could possibly think of. As a victim of rape/sexual abuse, I deeply appreciate your courage to stand up on the issue.

Great article - and I don't mean to sound as if I'm talking down, but you're very articulate for a 15 year old (unlike I was at that age); I commend you for it and your eloquence!
I've argued this topic with people many times, but I just feel fed up with trying to convince people that it's wrong; I feel very fervently about it, and I get rather vexed when people don't understand why it's wrong or when they accuse me of having a self-righteous attitude about it. I feel that I have to constantly amend, "I'm not trying to judge you personally about it, but..", lest other people blame me for sounding lofty or pious.
Anyway, I'm sure you know this already, but pay no heed those bovine fools who described your article as "retarded", "queer", and suchlike; they're obviously too shallow and conformist to have mature opinions, because comments like that are just blatantly obtuse.

Very good, MSP. I both happy for and proud of you. The range of reactions you got shows you hit the nail on the head for quite a few of your peers. Way to go.

Great article! I agree it's a widespread problem. I recently had a surreal exchange in which a friend of mine kept insisting that the seventh commandment ("Thou shalt not commit adultery.") did not actually prohibit adultery.

How can it says, "You shall not commit adultery" and not prohibit it? I couldn't have put something like that in a school newspaper, because I would've went beserk on the people that disagreed.

I agree. I'm glad the discussion was over instant messenger because I sure had some smoke coming out of my ears after I heard that. Honestly, I think he knew how crazy he sounded, but when you're entrenched in a sin like that it's tempting to bend the law the save your pride and avoid changing your behavior.

hey atog...

Mark 7:6-9
"6 And he said to them, "Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, 'This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; 7 in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.' 8 You leave the commandment of God, and hold fast the tradition of men." 9 And he said to them, "You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God, in order to keep your tradition!"

and another thing, sure God's law has changed, but for the better. God made those laws to he could have his people ready for the real truth. And remember, Christianity was BASED off of Judiasm, but is more focused on the new testament ;)

they were actual trollers, i think atog actually had something to say, rather than just being an annoyance. He expressed his beliefs, instead of blatently putting them down like the mass troll peoples
