Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

Postby termyt » Wed Nov 24, 2004 8:19 am

I just moved my desk at work from one building to another. It was a pain, but I got to move to a window seat!

For four years, I've sat in a room devoid of windows. Even though the weather often isn't the greatest here in oHIo, I do think it is good and healthy to be able to look outside once in a while.

Anyway, the window seat comes with a price. As all who live North of the Mason Dixon can tell you (you Texans will just have to bare with me), November brings about more than Armistice Day and Thanksgiving. The weather starts to get cold. The highs this week in North East oHIo are in the 50's and the giant window that is right behind me knows little of the art of insulation.

Termyt: Mr Window, would you mind holding in a little more of the heat?
Window: Pardon?
Termyt: Well, it's a little chilly in here - my handy desk top thermometer says it's 64 degrees.
Window: Pardon?
Termyt: Hmph. You see...*long explanation of thermodynamics*...so, how about it?
Window: Pardon?
Termyt: Grrr.

However, the human spirit can not be defeated by a mere window and the second law of thermodynamics. I got me a portable heater! I hung it below my desk and I must say it is nice and toasty here, now. I have a window and I have heat, and I am very thankful for both!

What are you thankful for?

I'm thankful for food, friends, family and the CAA. And also that I don't have to go to school for the rest of the week. Hehe. I had yesterday off too. My school rocks.

I'm thankful for CAA and having parents who homeschool me and my sister.

Hey, just wait until autumn. Ohio is beautiful in autumn. <3 I'm thankful for... my frineds. I know its clicke, but God has blessed me when so many wonderful new friends that not a day goes by that I can't help but be grateful for how wonderful he has been to me. I also need to thank God having a little brother, as nuts as he drives at times.

And a list of random little things I'm thankful for: AOL IM, CAA, two hands to draw with, that I live in a state where their aren't hurricanes, my cross country team, coach j, my family, two days off school, study hall, libraries, manga, and last but definitly not least... SWITCHFOOT!

I am thankful for:

1. My family. (My brother especially for introducing me to this thread, my parents especially for homeschooling me and teaching me to live responsibly and joyfully.)

2. My friends. I love my friends! They are fun, uplifting, trustworthy. I love you guys!

3. My merciful, just, loving, holy God.

"I will give thanks to the Lord because of His righteousness
and I will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High."

"You have made known to me the path of life,
you will fill me will joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand."

"The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped.
My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks
to Him in song."

Hallelujah! Praise His name!

I am thankful for close family and friends and a good close church family too. I am also thankful that I got THIS WHOLE WEEK off!!!
