Ash(ley) Wednesday - a Thanksgiving thread

...

Ahem, *clears throat* okay now that that is over, Ashley this is a special Thanksgiving thread. ^___^ And no, you are not the turkey. ;) You are the one we give thanks for on CAA today on Ash(ley) Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving (for us Americans... and Texans anyway  ). ^_____^

We thank you that you listened to that voice and moved forward in creating CAA. This is a place where, what is now thousands, of young people (and a few older ones -__-;;) gather to enjoy fellowhip in Christ and their love of anime, manga and J-rock (had to add that:eyeroll: ).

Thank you for caring so much for your sheep here and dedicating so much of the little free time you have into this site.

Thank you that you have always made yourself available to the work of the Lord and continue to want to represent a Christian witness to others.

And most of all, thank the Lord that He watches over this site and these members and this small little site in the middle of this large internet and blesses it with His grace and love. It is a place where artists, writers, students, music fans, and Christians all unite and enjoy one another's fellowship. This place should never be our life, but it should always be a wonderful "extra" that comes with being in the body of Christ.

Ashley, thank you for letting us have our young ladies Bible study, where I have been very blessed in seeing young ladies grow closer to the Lord these last few months. This is my own special thank you to you.

We will all be Ashley clones today - don't worry ^^;; we'll switch back tomorrow - but today, it is your day. ^___^ Just wait until your birthday next week... XDXD jkjk

So, let's all celebrate and be Ashleys today!!! *woohoo* ^____^:jump:

What are you all thankful for?

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Hi Ashley, Happy thanksgiving.
I love this site and am really thankful you created it. :)
Its nice knowing I can go anywhere in this site and not worry about the content.
Some of those sites out there are pretty choppy ;)

Once again a great big thank you from Kenshin17.

Wow...I....I don't know what to say....I've never read a thread before that made me break down and cry. Seriously....I saw this thread and half chuckled to myself thinking it was another silly imitate-Ash thread...and had no idea it would turn out to be such a wonderful comfort.

Thank you. Thank you for making me feel loved in a way I didn't know possible. Thank you for making me feel honored and courageous and proud to be your leader, proud to be called by God, and proud to remember He chose me. Thank you for showing me what an impact my life has made...for showing me I do have a purpose and I am making a difference. Thank you for making all the sacrifices, all the tearful prayers, all the times I stuck with CAA even when I didn't know why, all the gut-wrenching hard times worth it. Because you guys really are the reason I do this...I love you and I want to see Christ shining in each of you. And if I can help the Lord in that process...praise be unto Him.

Once again I cannot tell you how much this thread means to me...I really did begin to cry as I read each message somehow thanking me for an all-too-often thankless job. What a wonderful thanksgiving you've made this, and what a list of things I will be able to read off at our table thursday.

Its been a long time that I have been on CAA now. I am not as old school as members such as Gypsy or Shiro. But its been a spell. I remember dealing with a new leader named "Riana" And putting myself in a rather awkward spot. Calling you on an issue...and hoping you would deal with it. You did deal with it kiddo...and you have grown to become an amazing leader. I am moving this thread to the general board...because its quite a decent serious thread. Anyway....I once said I would be your right hand as long as you would have me here....*smiles* I meant it. Too many times sites take for granted special people leading them. For what its worth...keep up the great work kiddo. (yes I call her kiddo.....I am allowed to do so lol)

Thank you Ashley for making a board for us christians to come and talk about anime, music, game and the no.1 thing that should be on all of our minds is God.

From understanding your point of view, I know how it can be hard on you at times. This why we should give you thanks for coming up with this place.

I can say that this is the one place that I love the most on the net. I was a mod at board and I had to give it up for health reasons and other problems. And I can say that this board is peaceful and I know that I can kick back and have fun here.

I like you thank you for all the work that you have put into this place and for reaching out to others in need.

PS: if you don't mind. I like to say thanks to the mods here as well. You are really great at what you do and I like to thank you for the help that you do around here.

Wow, so much has been said I feel I would only be regurgitating the same points. But I will go ahead anyways. Thank you for making a community that are both christian friendly and anime related. Who would have thought that would be a good mix? Thank you for the prayer forum; It really helps to get things off your chest in times of need. Thank you for the bringing people from all walks of life together; I have met some really cool people here that I can proudly call my friends. Thank you for your optimistic feelings and thoughts; it always gives us something to look forward to. Thank you just being who you are; it's so great to see someone stand up for what they believe in, it inspires many. Finally, thank you for everything; your friendship, creating CAA and helping many become closer to the Lord. Through this experience I have become much closer to the Lord and that is I am so very grateful. Thank you.
And I really hope you have a great Thanksgiving weekend. Eat all the good food and drink about a million sodas.
Take this time to sit back, relax and see what you have accomplished. Again, thank you.

Better people hear have said the things concerning CAA, the peace, etc. that I wanted to say better and more eloquently. I guess that's part of the joy of checking CAA in the morning.

So I'll just throw in my "thank you, Ashley" as well. This is my favorite and most enjoyable of all the websites I visit. Philippians 1:3-6. God bless.

For everyone living south of the border, have a happy Thanksgiving. And an especially big thanks to Ashley for having the dedication to run a board like this.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

Ash, you are an amazing young woman. I would like to personally thank you for giving us a "safe" place on the web to discuss two of our passions - Christ and anime. I've only been here for a few months, but I very much enjoy the time I spend here and have met many wonderful people. I'm proud to be a member of a 17 year old's flock. I never thought I'd say that, and I was skeptical at first that one so young could run a place like this so well. I'm a true believer now, though. You are wise well beyond your years and I can see God has a great plan for you. Thank you for heeding that calling and not being too proud to humble yourself before Him.

We love you Ashley!! You're the best shepherdess a message board ever had!

Furthermore, I just wanted to tell you what a God send CAA was. Before I found CAA, I was just about to give up anime and manga completely. I just thought that people who were Christians just didn't like this stuff and I just needed to move on. Thank you so much for putting CAA where God could give it to me when I needed it most!
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

If it weren't for CAA, I wouldn't have found much-needed friends of the same interest.
If it weren't for CAA, I wouldn't have learnt to care and serve others better.
If it weren't for CAA, I wouldn't have learnt how both to honor God and enjoy anime/manga.
If it weren't for CAA, I wouldn't have given up my drawing talent for God.
If it weren't for CAA, I wouldn't have yearn more for God and seek His Word and Love.

CAA changed my life for the better.

Thank you, Ashley for letting God use you to make a difference in the anime/manga community. *hugs*
