Received/Sent: I cannot tell, as I regularly clean my account. But most likely I would have more than filled my account at this point.

Subscribed: 1587 (I auto-subscribe to threads... so 1588, now)

Lists: I can't say it is much help, but I do use the Buddy List. I would never place anyone on my Ignore List.

I cleaned out my message folders the other day. It had gotten over 100. I had always heard that if everyone kept a high number it would slow a board down. Don't know if that is true or not but I just always got in a habit of not keeping too many.

Anyway...

Messages Received: 32
Messages Sent: 31
Total: 63

It's usually that way as I try to always answer all PMs I get.

Threads Subcribed To: 529

Usually these are ones I have contributed to. I've only subscribed to a thread a couple of times because the subject interested me.

Buddy/Ignore lists: Can't say that I use either. Like UC and OldPhil I'm not really partial to certain members over others nor do I want to ignore anyone here at CAA.

Looks like not many use the buddy/ignore lists. I don't see their purpose, anyway. It's not like you can click on their names once you put them in.

At one point you could open a seperate window that listed everyone on your buddy list and if they were online or not (very similar to most chatting clients). However, I cannot say that it is very useful, especially on a message board (where it is generally understood that there will be time between portions of a conversation).

PM's: I've reached the 300 limit 3 or 4 times so I've had to regularly delete PM's that I have sent.

I don't really subscribe to threads at all.

I've come close to the 300 PM limit a few times. I've probably "springcleaned" my PM box about 3-4 times eversince I joined CAA. I guess I like PMing. *shrugs*

No threads subscribed
No. I didn't think the buddy list was really useful. Is it? ^_^;

I have a question. How does subscribing to threads help you? Does it notify you everytime a thread of your interest is updated? Maybe this might be the solution to my problem of losing track of on thread updates.

I really don't understand why you would use anything other than subscribing to threads. Every other method of posting strikes me as vastly more inferior and time consuming. Perhaps this explains why I can post at the rate I do, if most others use another system.

When you have subscribed to a thread, when another post is created in it, that thread appears whenever you select User CP. At the moment I have a list of the 22 threads I have ever participated in that have been updated since I was last on CAA. After I check on them (simply clicking Back if it has not been updated to return to the list), I will merely select "get new" and skim all new threads or move to specific forums and check for new threads of interest.

Also, you can subscribe to a thread so that it sends you an e-mail whenever a thread is updated.

Eep, never knew you could do that. ^__^;;;

:hits_self I must try this out! Thanks for explaining all that, UC. Anything that would help me save time while forumming is always welcomed.

EDIT: Actually, I've just realized that I AM subscribed to 11 threads. What's weird is I don't even remember how that happened.

Essentially, anything. For me, it has mostly been talking about projects or about specific subjects that relate only to myself and another person.
