i was on AIM when someone by the sn of Kbanime imed me and started making rude jokes and annoying me. I blocked them so just a warning to those of you for the future dont answer to an unknown im from someone who starts doing those things.
the first thing the person said was "what do you want from me you creep? are you a stalker?" and im like "you imed me remember?"
and then they started going off so just be aware of the sn

Wow, I sure hope that it wasn't anyone on CAA. =/ If you have problems with getting IMs from people you don't know, you can always set your privacy settings to only let people who are on your buddy list message you. It works wonders for me.

Saddly there are creeps out there. I've been IMed in the same manner you have on many occasions. Some people think it's funny, but quite honestly it very immature. Best thing to do is keep your finger on the block button

Hmm...yes, I actually had a person on YM ask me if I was fond of penguins, and another who asked if I was a powerlifter. O.o Both were totally random people I had never heard of in my life, of course. I think some people have too much free time.

People like that are common these days, unfortunately. I've had the same thing happen to me.

It helps to limit your buddy list and to only provide your information at limited places. I do use other chat systems apart from MSN, but I'm not giving it out unless I think I can trust a certain individual.
I rarely get this kind of problems since I don't chat that much, in relative to some CAA members I know. Btw, I'm not saying that chatting is bad. Just gotta be careful whom you're chatting with, that's all.

You know you should be really scared when they start using quotes from the pickup lines thread... *ahem* Sorry, couldn't resist.
Indeed, I realize this is serious, but it sounds like you handled it quite well. You can show me how to work all that "block" stuff if I ever get some IM someday... ^__^

Since I don't see any other admin post about it, I'll reiterate the CAA mod/admin position.
PLEASE - If you feel that anyone CAA (or who probably got your info through CAA) is harassing you in anyway, please let us (a mod or admin that you trust) know. We take these reports seriously, and want to ensure that CAA is a safe environment for everyone. While we don't outright ban every request we get, we know that there are preditors out there and we can't help protect you if we don't know.
