This seems a childish question, but are there any good ways to convince...

Are there any good ways to convince your parents to let you stay out of school? If nothing works, I'll get down on my knees and BEG Mom to let me stay out this coming Tuesday. Anyone have any tips? Any good ways to bribe her, or something? There is the issue of my brother...he will want to stay out, as well.

What's wrong this upcoming Tuesday? If thiers a reason that can harm your life, than i don't see why she wouldn't disagree.

Well...it could harm me emotionally for the rest of my life. It's the release of Halo 2.

My mom says that if I say I don't feel well enough to go to school, I can stay home, but that's just one more days work to make up. *lol* 'fraid I can't help ya out. ^^;

The only thing I can think of is claiming you need a mental day. That'll only work if you've been working hard the whole semester though! And only if you haven't already tried and failed to get her to let you stay home.
But I agree with Hitokiri. What's so special/horrid about Tuesday?

I'm very healthy so I'm rarely ever *really* sick to stay home. once or twice in a school year I'll take a day off for the heck of it. And about Halo 2 well I think it's a legitimate reason.
I don't think she'll be too keen on driving you to EB though or you driving yourself...

Coincidently, my grandfather has a doctors appointment that day that wil take us straight by EB Games...I can pick up Halo 2 there. She just doesn't understand. I'll use how she felt about that book she had been waiting for for ten years to be released. That should convince her. Hopefully...
EDIT: I live 45 minutes out from the nearest big city. I do have my priorities straight...Halo 2 owns all. I'm a straight A student, anyway, so it shouldn't matter.

You may have a chance.

I have class that day, so I think you can wait too.
-HAHA! Thinking about it, if I had ever asked my mom something like that when I was in high school, she'd smack me upside the head and laugh.
Still, if you try.... good luck.

Umm... I know your not going to like this but I'm going to have to side with you mother. If/when I become a parent I would not let my son/daughter skip a day of school just to pick up a game. If your really that concerned of not getting a copy just reserve it. Or like AsterlonKnight said, pick it up after school (like 3-4-ish). That's not too bad. But I mean, that's not really a good excuse to miss a day of school..... sorry
*dodges the textbooks being thrown*

why don't you ask mom to go get it for you while you're at school?

Just tinker with your bone DNA... Oh wait, that takes awhile....
I ALWAYS wait until it's 3 or 4 days after release for important games. If you beg to get out of school, she will NEVER let you get it.

BTW, I wouldn't suggest faking anything if I was in your shoes........

I have it reserved. That's not a problem. Reserved it back in July-August and paid in full. I just want more time to play it...my friend is getting to stay home that day, I think, so...we are going to beat coop.

I just want more time to play
Once you have the game in hand you can play it all you want . So it's not that bad to wait an extra 6hrs

Other than faking sickness (which probably won't work since you're already asked for the day off), I don't see any way to get the day off for a videogame (even Halo 2).
Face it...a videogame release is not a valid reason to miss school, no matter how good or anticipated it is.

yeah...uh... the release of Halo 2 probably won't give you a day to stay at home.. but um.. good luck..

Work real hard in school that day, and try to get all your homework done. The less homework you have, the more time you can spend playing your game. ^_^

"Halo 2 owns all"....quite cryptic, if I do say so my self...There's this guy that plays Halo like all night long every night with his friends. We estimate that when Halo 2 comes out, they'll get a job just long enough to earn 50 bucks, quit, then buy Halo 2 and become Halo vampires. I'm not sure if that's what you want happen to you....Besides, you don't necessarily need to beat the game the first day it comes out. You'll own the game, so you'll have all the time you need.

Hmm. . . well, if your mother is anything like my mother, only severe hemoraging of a major organ (nothing unimportant like that pancrease) or mental insanity are grounds for skipping school. But, perhaps you mother is nothing like my mother. . .
I say just ask your mom is you can skip school. Tell her you're making good grades and see what she says. I don't really think there's some obvious loop hole for you to step into.
