Modeling?

No, I don't mean modeling as in walking down a catwalk and posing, I mean modeling as in building model kits, particularly of the anime related kind. I was just wondering if anyone else likes to build these? I've currently got 13 Gundam Wing models on my plate that need to be built. I'm currently working on a 1/144 scale Wing Gundam that is still in the process of being painted. After that, it's onto a 1/144 scale Shenlong Gundam. I'd like to get the three Escaflowne models after I finish these Gundam Wing kits.
I figured I'd start this thread to see if anyone else builds anime-related model kits. This thread could be nice for model builders to discuss building techniques, painting, detailing, etc. So. Yeah, that's all I've got to say on this right now.

I've got a small version of Epyon, roughly the size of a standard action figure, on my bookshelf. Was the first type of these models I've done.
What I would like to see are Megadeus model kits (*gasps of surprise from the assembled congregation*). Then Epyon could have a playmate in Big Fau.

The Megadeus would be a sweet model kit. I can't wait to get the Escaflowne models, they are so sweet. I've got that Epyon kit you're talking about, I just have yet to build it. I'd like to get some models of other Gundam series (Strike Gundam from Seed in particular), and maybe an Eva Unit 01 model. That'd be nice. Did you paint your Epyon or anything?

I have seen a Megadeuce model kit, lets see I have around 20 1/144 scale gundam model kits, 9 1/100 scale gundams, and one Perfect Grade Wing Zero Custom and a few Master Grades under my wing so far, When I first started off I didn't paint any then I did and my friends started paying me a few bucks to paint theres and then I finally got my perfect grade took me 3 months to finish it. But I would like a little umm...help with painting anyone got any pointers or anything and what kind of paints do you use?

While I haven't built anything recently (no time), I've bought and constructed several Gundam 1/144 scale kits. My technics aren't exactly professional, but with experimentation, I've gotten some nice results. I use a brush to apply an assortment of acryllic paints, use a ballpoint pen/water to add black detail lines and dirt smudges. Then I brush on a craft varnish to help protect the paint from chipping and add luster.
This GS01 is one of my better results.

Yup, 'e's all painted....maybe not the best, but He's painted. ^_^ Never had the nerve to try his transformation cause I don't want the model falling to pieces.
