Asian Club on campus?*

Hey! I was wondering if anyone else has or is a part of an Asian or anime club on their campus! We have on at NWC called AFF (Asian Focus Fellowship) and were starting an anime subgroup~~
just wondering how others show animes etc.* because of copywrite laws...
We can show anime etc. in our rooms, but we can't show movies or anything in a public area without buying copywrite mumbo jumbo...

The college in my town has a film apreciation club that frequently plays anime movies, but no Asain clubs. I guess thats about right for where I live.

I'm part of an anime club in my area, but I can't drive till February, so I can't quite drive to the meetings yet.

I have been a member of CSMAC (College of Southern Maryland Anime Club) since it was JASCCCC (Japanese Animation Society of Charles County Community College back in the 90s. We allow the public to come into our meetings if they are interested in joining as long has there are students of the college in the club. We have shown licensed and unlicensed anime and some crazy live action videos that club members have found and we try to stick with Japanese dialogue with English subtitle.
Members have gone to cons together as a group. A few have done anime music videos for the cons. Done a few cosplays together.
I have heard that some of the companies have rewarded some clubs with items from their companies if they write to them about having a anime series in their possession (Something that was said at con discussion about the anime industry) doesn't hurt to check into it.

hey, that's pretty awesome~ I thought there'd be some other clubs out there~
I guess we can't play copyrited material in public places though... so we'll have to use people's rooms~
technically Russian is Asian~
