Is it possible? Theoretically, yes.
Is it dangerous? Oh, h*** yeah.
I agree with the last statement in the article though. "I need to get off this planet, because I fear we may destroy it."
This sounds like a really STUPID idea. Just because we CAN do something doesn't mean that we SHOULD. Besides, what happens if you make one of these things, send it to a military base, and something goes wrong? Whoops, you just blew up your entire base.
*shakes head*

stupidity...and, I'm not sure about the former".- Albert Einstein

Seeing as how I am only 15, I do not understand everything they are saying there, yet they make it very apparent about how rediculous this is. Kae, I must agree with you here.

Sounds like it's possible... just not probable for the near future.

The bombs would be more powerful than any nuclear weapons we have today. If we were to go to war with those, they could crack the planet in half.

HA!!! If I see these out before I'm dead and buried... I'll have a heart attack....

Hmm, reminds me of a book on antimatter I had read a great deal of a few years ago. I think that though nuclear caliber weapons made of this would be extremely unwise, however, on the smaller level (say, the 1 millionth of a gram with the power of 83 pounds of TNT), I think it would make an extremely effective and portable weapon for ground war. The concept of antimatter power is also most promising.
Holy....

This is about the second most freaky thing I've seen on the net, and the third most in my lifetime. The first on the net being Living computers (With free will) and the other being the so called human clone of a cult in europe (they never proved they had cloned a child, so they were..laughed off). Hopefully, by the time those particular bombs get made, I'll be long gone into the glory of glories, i.e., Heaven. Lets pray they run into even more complications, becuase if those things got shot off, there would literally be h*** to pay.
(Edited the the above statement so I could feel special and important)

Do you guys seriously think this is going to happen? Is God going to let us split the earth in half? (unless it's end times or something, in which case the world's got it coming and Christians should be out of here anyway.)

Precisely. I should consider buiding a super-intelligent, impenetrable, anti-matter bomb shelter/fortress, complete with bedroom, bathroom, kitchen [along with 10 years worth of food supplies], and of course, a Widescreen T.V. with all the complete seasons of Family Guy for my future descendants.

I'd heard about it before, about "tunnels built under the US deserts somewhere, were they'd be firing matter at antimatter from opposite ends of the tunnels" or something like that. What can you do, but cringe and bear it I mean, War gets the economy up and running... hence some of the more recent ones. and developing weapons is all part of that. Its humanity and its "bescheuert"... (nuts/crazy/idiotic/insane).

Many of the same sentiments were declared over nuclear weapons and, as far as I know, global annihilation hasn’t happened yet. Antimatter study has tremendous potential benefits for our society, but it is also very dangerous. I doubt very much that our government is taking that danger lightly. Nor do I believe we would use any weapon such as an antimatter bomb lightly. Supposedly, the warmongers in the Pentagon or the Kremlin were going to blow up this mud ball several times over by now, but we are all just too sensible for that.
My point? Yes, fear the potential devastation this may cause, but use that fear constructively so that this technology, if and when it comes around, is used safely and wisely. Anyway, no weapon we can make will derail the will of God, who is to be feared much more than any old bomb.

Precisely. Well said, termyt.
