Okay, I just sold something on eBay, and my money is in my Paypal account. How do I get it into my Checking account? Does it happen automatically in a short period of time, or am I supposed to do something else?

You need to have Paypal transfer the money, it won't happen automatically. Not that that tidbit by itself is all that useful to you, but it's all I got.

A little off the point:
paypal huh? I use it sometimes for buying stuff on ebay b/c it charges my credit card. You may want to check out:
http://www.paypalsucks.com/
It tells you everything what's wrong w/ paypal. I never give anyone access to my bank account. B/c Paypal has a history of taking money out of peoples account w/o consent. And they have to right to freeze your bank account if they see something as "suspicious." If you accepted the agreement you gave them the right. And if you want to sue them, you can't for anything under $50-$100,000 (somewhere in that area) of lost money. So i only use my credit card so i can dispute anything that isn't right. But i will agree paypal does have its use, it's not all bad. Just be cautious.

agasfas has a point, but I believe if I remember correctly, that you can have Paypal send you a money order with the money you want from your Paypal account too. It's been a long time since I've exactly dealt with Paypal. I normally just leave the money in my Paypal account and use it at some other time to buy stuff off of e-bay or other sites where I can use paypal to pay with.

Hmmm, it's been a while since I did it, but anyway...as I recall, on your Paypal window, there should be a link or button called "withdraw" or something to that effect. If you've already configured your bank information (or routing number...I forget what all they ask for) you can just put in the exact amount of your balance and they'll direct deposit it into your account. That's the way mine works, anyway.

Right, that's how it works for me as well. But, like LightUp said, it's usually easier just to leave it there and spend it somewhere else. If you have a lot of money, PayPal offers some investment accounts that you can look into.
Paypal *is* valuable for accepting credit cards without having to have a full merchant contract, and that's mostly what I use it for myself.

Thanks! I was poking around earlier and stumbled onto the 'withdraw' feature. I really wish PayPal had a tutorial or something... if they do, I'm not too familiar enough with the site to find it.
But anyways, the money I'm getting from eBay is going to help buy me a vehicle, so I need to have it in my checking.
