I was trying to help a friend of mine whose homosexual... and I've noticed this before, but I can get into a conversation not knowing what to say.... but God gives me the right words to help people.. I'm just really scared I guess because I don't know what to do and I have a speach impediment. But I want to dedicate my life to serving God. And I can tell He is leading me to ministry.

If God is calling you obey Him. The time in your life you will be the most miserable is the time you spend avoiding God and what you know he wants you to do. Moses stuttered but God used him to lead the isrealites out of egypt, Timothy was young, that didn't stop God from using him.

Yeah so anyway just trust God ... if He wants you to be a minister He'll supply the strength you need to do it. He won't set you up for failure. Just make sure it's Him calling you.

that's awesome Vyse! Hey, noone that God ever called to His aid was perfect, look at the long list of people in the Bible He chose. Yet in the end they came out the victor and regardless of their imperfections, they were overlooked because they had the grace of God shining through them and the lives of the people they touched. God will work awesome things into your life and I'll pray that you fulfill His purposes for your life. Continue at it man! ^_^ Rock on. xD

I can't really say what God is seeking for me to do, so I don't have much experienced advice on the subject. I will say that I know how you feel about the speech impediment...I'm not such a great talker myself. Words constantly fail me when I communicate verbally, plus I'm irrepressably shy. But it looks like God needs you do go on with this particular path for a good reason, so have faith that He'll polish you up as He sees fit. Good luck with your homosexual friend, Ill pray for him/her as well as you. ^^

Interseting.

Vyse if you have a speach impediment it means nothing if speaking in His name is what God wants you to do.

God can use both our strengths and weaknesses to bring glory to Him.

Hey, even Demosthenes had a speech impediment, and Moses HATED to talk in front of people...

Vyse, I know you're scared, but if God's calling you to ministry, then He will help you. You and I both know that He may not necessarily remove the fear, but He will give you strength (2 Corinthians 12:9, Isaiah 41:10). I'll be praying that God will guide and help you as you pursue this course...

'Tis a glorious and noble profession, to be a minister. I don't really know you that well, but I believe you will bring honor and glory to God. I'm with everyone else, who cares if you have a speech impediment? Trust in God and He will take care of the rest. Good luck trying to help your homosexual friend.

Vyse that's wonderful! :jump: I remember some things you said to me once that were very helpful so I think you will do a great job.

I understand your fear, I get nervous about what God want/may want me to do sometimes too. You're experiencing the same thing one of our own experienced when he discovered he was called to minister. He was afraid and didn't act on what God told him to do, which wasn't the best choice since he faced trials and tribulations as a result. It took him almost 2 years before he finally decided to yield to God's Will.

I agree with everything Ducky says. And I'll lift you up in prayer for God to give you strength to work to fulfill your calling.

If this is where God wants you to be then He will not fail you. Nothing is every easy even if it's God's will we are to be there, but through his grace we can rely on Him to assist us along the way. I pray that God will help give you the confidence and resolve needed to spread His word to those who need it most.

I know I've already commented but I wanted to add to what I said earlier, lol. Vyse, I remember when you were speaking to her [the homosexual person], and how facts in the Bible against it, and what God says about those people, and wisdom and knowledge of it, flowed from your fingers and you typed and sent out paragraphs at the time. God was using you as His vessel and using you to get to her so she could think through what you were saying. I remember being in awe of that that flowed from you, you do have a gift man and don't give up on it. Continue leaning on Him and encouraging and talking with her. People, including myself, look up to you. Just remember Phil 4:13, and that even the smallest ripple someday will become the largest wave. Keep pressin on bro. :thumb:

Agreed.

It's okay, i used to have a speech impairment and somehow got over that. And on top of that i couldn't talk until i was 5yrs (seriously). Some people are called upon to be in the ministry and need to do what they can to help others, whether it being a minister or a one-on-one counselor. Being called to do ministry doesn't mean you "have" to preach to a large crowd. Some of the best help comes from the ministers that do one-on-one work. I believe God would be happy regardles, whether you helped 1 or 100. God called on Noah to preach (along w/ building the ark) for 120yrs before the flood and not one person followed. God called on him to do a job and he did it, whether if he was good at it or not. Some the most famous preachers in the bible were horrible public speakers, but all of them had their hearts in the right place. That's all that matters.
