Tornado Warning

Okay, I guess I won't be on for a while because there's a hurricane/tornado warning for my county and we're expecting winds of up to 100 mph or more.
:(
The power is expected to go out and I'm hoping my house survives...
pray that God protects us and everything turns out well.
I was born on the west coast so I know nothing about this kind of thing...some people are really worried, and some don't seem to care so much. I'm not really either...but having been through natural disasters before, I know the devastation stuff like this can cause. It's surreal.
I don't know if bringing the community a little closer is worth losing everything I have...but if I'm dead it won't matter. ^_^
Woah, did I just write that? :P
...actually, I'm hoping that doesn't happen either. :(
This should probably go in the prayer section anyways...but I don't think that will matter much either.
Keep my family in your prayers,
-Madeline

I'll most certainly pray for ya'll! I was just watching the weather channel... I didn't know there was another storm... man, the gulf is really getting the one, two punch.

It's been raining where I am like crazy this entire summer (raining right now as I speak), it's like England here... and with the two storm coming up through the gulf... that rain ain't gonna' stop soon.

We're in GA and we're just barely missing a big hurricane...I was like, "Hey! Cool! A hurricane!" and my parents just looked at me like "Are you nuts?!"

Heh.

Anyway, yeah I'll be praying for you. Tornadoes are nasty but not really that dangerous if you're prepared. If you've got a basement, go down there. If you don't, go in a room with no windows or the bathroom...or the hallway.

Hmm, I like storms a lot, but not of the natural distaster scale. Stay safe and I'll send one up for you and your family.

Yeah, here in Central IL we don't have too many natural disasters to worry about--except tornadoes. We're pretty much in Tornado Alley. We had a bunch of warnings earlier in the Summer but none since. The weather has been weird here--far below normal temp.'s--it's been in or near the 40's :wow!: the last two nights and in the 60's (20 degrees below normal) the last several days. It feels like Fall...

But yeah, tornadoes are scary, and I'm sure hurricaines would be too. I will pray, Madeline.

Here's a funny story...

My parents and I were driving through a storm, and I am SCARED STIFF of tornadoes. I don't know why, but I am. It was severe tornado weather and there were a lot of funnel clouds. I started shouting, "IS THIS TORNADO WEATHER? Is this tornado weather?"

My parents tried to distract me by singing in cracking voices a song about tying yellow ribbons around trees. I started wailing and crying and flipping out in the backseat, telling them to hurry and get home. The sky was black and rain was coming down in torrents.

It was really scary...but I think I may have overreacted...

Thanks all for praying for me. ^_^
I got some good information from a lady at the check-out at wal-mart.
She used to live in the...oh I forgot where, but it was somewhere in South America where they get alot of hurricanes.
Hurricane Charlie isn't supposed to come in until late Friday...
Oh, mom's home. That's both good and bad...she has to do the bills. :P
Blah...what was I saying...oh.
I feel alot better now that we have some supplies and are somewhat prepared...it's funny, because most of the locals say it doesn't even compare to earthquakes and fires. I guess that's just because they've only seen the really huge earthquakes on the news where everybody was stuck under a pile of rubble...I slept through nearly all of them, and they only knocked a few things off of shelves and the like.
But the fire...that was bad. :(
Anyway, I guess I should go and check out some of the other topics before
my mom needs to be on...
