*total Writer's Rant!*

I'm so doggoned FURIOUS! YAARGH! Rumiko Takahashi and me think the SAME WAY, and it keeps on seeming like we're copying each other's ideas! In my novel, one of my characters who has wolf ears (I made him up long before I even saw Inuyasha) wears a bandanna in his hair. Then, I see a picture of Inuyasha wearing a bandanna, too! YEARGH! Then there's Shippo and that big furry tail, and one of my characters (a cat) has a big furry tail too!
*rant*
I am getting so upset...HELP! Weee share the same brain..........

....I'm...sorry.. V_V Yes, I know. A lot of times, I'll come up with a story idea that I think is pure genius, and then, maybe a week or so later, I find that there's a story nearly identical to what I had been planning to write about. Sad, isn't it? So, I can sympathize with you. ::sympathy, sympathy:: It's okay, though. Just finish what you started. I, personally, have never seen Inuyasha in a bandanna... All I can say is, go for it. Don't stop your story simply because you see something similar to yours. I want to see it, if I may, of course. : )

Hey, even a new twist on the exact same characters can be cool. Maybe if you do combine a bunch of ideas, you'll come up with something completely your own.

I once had a great idea for an RPG, until I played Final Fantasy VII and realized that Squaresoft had stolen my idea before I even thought of it...

*pats you on the back* There, there, it's okay. I agree; just go for it and make it your own. After all, they say that everything's been done before and it's all in how you do it more than what you do. *gives you hot chocolate for extra cheer*

You think that sucks? The Blind Boys of Alabama won a Grammy for doing something I thought up MONTHS before they did (singing Amazing Grace to the tune of House of the Rising Sun)

See? *points* -.- And it's used for the same reason that my character's bandanna was used for. I knew I had to come with something to cover my character's wolf ears (I made him up LONG before I saw Inuyasha), but I saw Inuyasha with a hat (my original idea) and was like, "ha, fine, I'll make Saiga wear a bandanna instead" and then I see THIS picture! o_O
Off Topic: Inuyasha is cute with a bandanna...

I designed characters, who looked very similar to two of the lead characters of Sojourn when I was in high school: yup, that blonde archer chick and eyepatched rugged guy
Hey, at least you know readers will most probably your ideas. *smiles forcefully* Back to the drawing board.....

Well the bandanna in my story is different, it says "I Love Teddybears" *dies*. And Saiga doesn't really look like Inuyasha. He has a tail and his hair is brown. And his robe is night-blue and his sword is sort of lightsaber-ish in that the blade comes out of the hilt...the only similarities are the claws and ears. And eyes. But that's characteristic of half-wolves.

Oh, guess what? Now I find out that the name "Jaken" and "Jinenji" are in Inuyasha. But I won't let that bother me as they're Japanese words with Japanese meanings...still, though, it's irritating...

Man, I just finished drawing a character from one of my stories, but he resembles a lot of anime characters--well, I did get my inspiration from them. With his hair, he looks a lil' like Pegasus...unfortunately...'cept shorter.
hehe, oh well!

Problem is, none of my characters were "inspired." Actually well sort of.......I found out about wolfdogs and really wanted a part-wolf dog because I wanted to be part wolf...then I came up with other ideas.

Take this opportunity to write something different and explore your creativity (once again, view this from a positive point of view ^_~ ). You don't have to change the characters drastically. You can still pull off a good story even if ppl go like, "Hey, this is something like Inuyasha!" Don't give up and keep working on the manga!

Oh, it's not a Manga, it's a Novel. NO WAY am I starting over again. It's 400+ pages long right now. The story is 100% original, it's just the characters that are giving me a little trouble...
True, I've only been writing it for about two months but I love this story and won't give up on it. I think that if there's a website for it, I'm going to mention the similarities between Inuyasha and my novel and explain that it was purely coincidential.
I've cooled off now about the bandanna thing because a lot of people wear bandannas, so...oh well.

I've been writing a screenplay since I was 13. So far, I've been lucky enough to not find any stories that resemble it. ^_^ I'd say what it's about but until I copywrite it, I don't feel comfortable posting it online. That's why I type it on the laptop. I'm afraid of someone taking ym idea and changing it before I can get a chance to finish it. *Is determined to finish the story very soon* I have a few more writeups for school then I'm gonna start on it. I've got 6 weeks before school starts. ^_^
