I need a hug (extremely depressed)

I just found out that my best friend in the world, that I've known for a whole decade, is moving away to California. We've known each other ever since I was 5 years old. We've been through alot together, and now he's going to be gone. We live in Kentucky, but now that they're moving(because of their dad's job) we might not ever see each other again. Much, much comfort is needed here. I locked myself in my room and cried for almost an hour.

Well, one advantage of today's technology, is that you can still keep in touch via email or IM. Also, telephone and snail mail I guess.

Still, I know it sucks to have to leave old friends, but I know God's hand is in there somewhere. I'll be praying for you.

Ouch.
It's tough to have to go through something like that.

I agree with what Saint Keven posted above. Perhaps you can keep in touch with email or telephone or even old-fashioned handwritten (or typed) letters via the Postal Service.

Yes, we will keep in touch somewhat in those ways you mentioned, but it'll never be the same without him around. I thank you for adding me to your prayer list.

It is really tough moving somewheres else after being friends with someone for so long. I have a friend that I know since we were in Kindergarden, 7 years later, I moved a long ways away. We still keep in touch.

Here is a hug. I will pray for you ZIPO and who knows, you and your friend might meet again someday, if the Lord wills.

Aww, cheer up! You'll get over it in about 3 years! *speaking from experience*

Less than that probably, since in my case I was the one moving.

I'll pray for ya ;)

Thanks for putting it bluntly. But is it true. I thank all of you for being so supportive in my time of need. I feel a little better today, I think.

Yeah man, I totally know how you feel. One of my best friends moved over to Indonesia. But luckily he's moving back in like 3 or 4 years, so I guess it's okay. It's just killer since the time zones are so different. We can only talk on AIM when it's early or late here...13 hour difference.

Oh sorry. Got a little OT. Anyway, hope you feel better.

Poor thing. I know how you feel, having all my high school friends scattered among the tempestous winds of collegiate life. Most of them have fallen in with the "wrong crowd" on top of that, so our relationships are slowly deteriorating. Depressing, yes. But God will handle the important parts. I'll pray for you and your bud. ;_;

 I'm so sorry. I feel bad for you. :(
However, travelling between California and Kentucky will be a cinch when I finish my wormhole transportation system. Though I'm not sure if it will transport you to a different place, or if it will alter space-time and cause utter chaos, disrupting physics forver. *Fireproof presses the button on wormhole transportation device and stares at it* Hmm... *Device beeps and shoots out popcorn* As you can see, I'm still working on it. *Popcorn buries Fireproof*

The members here have already said encouraging words...that I probably would've said had they not said them. Good thing we live in a age of expansive global communication; so with IM or email you can keep in touch with your friend.

Though, the thing is all friendships do end, and sometimes when you finally meet that person who was once your greatest friend. They have changed so much and so have you, so that mutual bond might be lost --I had that happened to a friend I knew for over eight years.

But keep your chin up, and remeber you're never alone. : )
