i think i might add version 2 or maybe 3 as my avatar....version 4 is creeping me out...and version one is ok but the "anyone" looks soo much more dynamic in blood red don't you think?.....like she would rather face death and have her blood spilt like a martyr rather than bow her knee to idols...i am really liking this concept and avatar.....comments?

Wow, there's quite a few homeschoolers here! Wish I'd found this thread sooner. Lesse, my educational background is:

ESC to end of Grade 5 in French Immersion

Grade 6 to 10 more or less traditionally homeschooling

Grades 11, 12 and a wee bit afterwards in an informal virtual school. They basically gave ya the work, and access to the teachers, and the timeline and such was up to the student.

And now I'm in my first year at Art School, with my fingers crossed that I'll be accepted into second year on the design side.

:dance: Hehehe, just noticed that I've hit 100 posts! :dance:

I'm not a mod, but I like the avatar, emerson. BTW, welcome to CAA. Did you post in the Welcome section?

I also came to tell you emerson, that I know you're new but please don't double post - or in your case, you posted four times in a row - the great quadruple post :P. I'd appreciate you not do that, simple mistake, I'm sure. ^_^

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

with minors in English and Music.

Don't ever change your major your second semester, Junior year and expect to graduate on time. And if you do, have fun with your books. Just some advice.

Wow, I didn't know there was a Homeschoolers Guild right here on CAA! :)

How cool!

I've been homeschooling since the middle of my 6th grade year. For the rest of the year, and then part of the next year, I was part of a school in which you went to class two days and homeschooled the other three. We actually only started homeschooling on our own in December of my 7th grade year and 8th grade, though. I suppose you could call me a new homeschooler. ^_^

I have a few nicknames...Maddie, Madelmeister, Madelbug, Madeldoo, Lefty, Purple, Kiri, Snarfkin, and Gaz.

if i ever went into homeschool i would go insane with all the quiet...

Haha! Ahaha! Ahahahahahahaha! :lol: That's a...haha...that's a good one. *tries to stop laughing* AHAHAHAHAHA!!! XD

ROFL! There is NEVER any quiet in a homeschool house, unless it is 5:00 PM and you are still doing your work while everyone else is at the grocery store.

I see and hear more people than I ever did in public school. I'm still not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. :sweat: When I was in public school, I would ignore everything and everyone, for example:

1. The Teacher
2. The kid behind me who was poking me in the back with a pencil and asking for my answers
3. The kid next to me who is passing me notes about who is cheating on who and the usual gossip I could care less about :eh:
4. The kid who likes to pull my chair out from under me whenever I get up
5. The popular girls who are hogging the bathroom pass so they can gossip and do who knows what while the class is working

Nyah...I will say I learned when to keep my mouth shut while I was at that school. That's about it...

I love Homeschooling ^_^

The best thing 'bout homeschooling is the fact that you can eat anything you want for lunch--almost whenever you want!

i was homeschooled for 2nd and 7th grade... my parents took me out of school because i socialized too much in 6th and got a C. Well it was a benefit.... i used to be in the special kids slow math.. then when i was homeschooled i got upset at myself and started studying college algebra... i took the algebra test in 8th and scored into hs algebra/// So i went from learning multiplication to doing HS algebra in one year. It was a real accet to me because i graduated HS with Calc 2 finished.

I think i liked math and science the best in homeschool... oh yea and biblestudy.

I didnt like english... oh yea and if anyone didnt notice... i am horrible at spelling :(

HS was great for me, i am so glad my parents made me be homeschooled.. .. plus i got to go to homeschool PE classes... that was fun too.

I am homeschooled!

*ahem*
Kindergarten-2nd grade=public school(my parents did not really even know about homeschooling then)
3rd grade-5th grade=home school (my parents wanted me and my bros in a good invironment and such)
6th grade=public school(I missed it because I thought it was cool or something. I probably just wanted to get popular and stuff-which I did not lol)
7th grade=home school (I went back with little hesitation...I mean before the end of the first semester of 6th I was missing it.)

And now I am in 9th(skipped 8th), am home schooled, and loving it. My only problem is that I am lazy and end up on the computer when I am supposed to be working....HEY WAIT I AM SUPPOSED TO BE WORKING NOW!!!! I get on just to look at one silly user look up and end up posting on like 5 different threads!!!!! *sigh*

I don't think I ever saw this thread. . . if I did it was so long ago that I don't remember, which means that none of you would probably remember what I said either, so if I said it before I guess I'll just say it again ;)

I've been homeschooled forever. I really really like it, I've never had any of the problems that some homeschoolers have. Osaka and I do school together every day, so I don't get lonely; the food is always good, that's a plus; it's mentally stimulating and, often times, nearly impossible but I'm a better person for it; and I don't have quite as much peer pressure to deal with, or any of the other negative stuff that comes with public schooling. The ONLY thing that I miss not being in a public school is the opportunity for ministry, but the way I look at it is that if God has me homeschooling He must have a reason for it, and thinking back I actually have had the opportunity to minister to some other homeschoolers. So yep, it's all good! My favorite subject is English. Talk about easy. Osaka and I joke that we could practically write the textbook ourselves at this point :P. And whoever said that they hate grammar because of how you have to memorize all the author's names-- I could not agree with you more! That annoys the SNOT out of me! But anyways, other than that English is cool. My second favorite is probably. . . math. Algebra 2 right now. One exception though: Geometry was a nightmare. The rules weren't as concrete and there was too much memorizing, it was crazy. I like Algebra in all it's forms MUCH more. So, that's about all I can think of right now. It's cool though how many homeschoolers there are on this site, sometimes I forget how many of us there are out there nowadays. There definitely didn't used to me so many back when I was first starting out. Now I don't feel quite so unique :thumb:. Wait. . . is that a good thing?. . . .
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

K-5 through 2nd grade, I was homeschooled. Ever since I was in the dreaded public school system. I miss it, though if I'd always been homeschooled I never would've been introduced to this place.

Now I'm in college, and I'm not even gonna go into how much I dislike it. :eh: ;)
