can u teach me the succesion technuice that creates a void? i don't think it is posible though

Yeah, that's one of the things that can't be done...-.-x

Ditto. CAA is not responsible for any potentially dangerous martial/weapon arts training attempts involving moving with sharp objects. End of disclaimer.

Nobody's supposed to be using sharp objects...just wooden/cardboard swords. (nobody's supposed to beat each other up either.) If anyone starts doing that, I'm not teaching. ;^^x

Feh. Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu is a REAL style? That's strange. Watsuki must have made some of the moves up...though, I've nearly done the Amakakeru Ryu no Hirameki.

No, it's not a real style...not until people made it that way, that is. ^^x

the problem with practicing with a cardboard sword is that katanas have the heft of a moderate-to-heavy baseball bat (wood). so it's different.

I use my own custom techniques, but am doing ok with learning some Hiten Mitsurugi moves, so far i can do the battou jutsu (though its a bit slow due to the weight of a real katana, which i use to practice with), ryu tsai sen (but not in my room, heh heh, its gotta low celing), and some other stuff, i wihs i knew the sequence of all nine strikes of the Succession technique... [if someone knows em, can they post em, thanks]

Do you mean it's a real sword style or the moves can be practiced in real life.

(Excuse me if this question was asked previously, I don't have time right now to read back through all previous posts)

it is not an actual sword fighting style.

sephiroth: you have an actual, sharp katana? have you been trained in a swordfighting discipline?

no, the katana is blunt. & i only use it for the safe moves. One of my friends has some bokken we try out, haven't trained in swordfighting, but am looking in to taking up kendo. (its hard to find places that teach it in scotland) i've only found 2 and of them one is too far to travel. Am gonna see about joining the other though.

My 'custom' stuff is just thinking up different styles of strikes, defences, stances etc. its kinda like a hobby, really...

i hope you can learn kendo! when i get, ya know, a real live job, i plan to buy a katana and learn a discipline, as well as at least one unarmed martial art (preferably ninjitsu. heh, that would be just too cool!)

MY friends and I all have various wooden and metal weapons, most of which are improvised and/or crafted from goods on my friend's farm. They even have neat-looking blunt knives! They'ree sooooo cool! They're about 2cm wide, 5mm thick and about half the length of my forearm. They have handles made of duct tape and twine, and duct tape cases. If anyone has any pointers, I'd like to learn some hints for evasion, defense and faster attacks. Those are my worst areas when we fight. T_T;
Note: I have footwork and basic weapon handling down pretty well, and I am partial to either very large, or very small weapons. Like knives or two haded swords. All wooden or non-sharp, of course.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I'm great with polearms such as halberds and lances.

Simple. Carry a Nerf gun (the kind that fires balls) and when they try to attack with their obsolete melee weapons, cap them in the head with your SUPERIOR projectile weapons. ^_^

Rai

But seriously...I don't know, but practice with them a lot. It will help across the board.
