Most car units now include Aux ports for mp3 players, and some decent ones will run you about $80 or so. That you don't have to worry about the cd drive going out on ya. Try Crutchfield here http://www.crutchfield.com/g_300/Car-Receivers.html?tp=5684 just input your make and model of car.

Plus, cassettes are the betamax of CD's lol. I still have my original Def Leppard: Hysteria album on tape.

I wonder if it might work if you used the Walkman's own data cable? The cable that sits in my glove box is just a female USB connecter, then the kit also came with an iPod connecter that'll plug into that.

I use a cheap $14 FM transmitter from Walmart. It plugs in through the audio jack of any mp3/CD player and works pretty well for the money.

Mostly, though, I listen to the radio.
