How did you choose your avatar?

Talk about anything in here.

Went through the Sonic X screenshots I downloaded, and resized this one down to avatar size. Funny thing... I don't ship, but I support Sonic x Amy for some reason.

My avatar is my favorite character on Sailormoon, and the one that most represents me... I mean, come on, the guy had to wait forever to get with Luna, and she even fell in love with a human before him, and they were the only two talking cats on earth... He honestly was the only male of his kind and he still got rejected... He's always getting abused by Luna, minimized by the sailors, and never gets his proper respect. As there are only 4 prominent males in most of Sailormoon, and I don't quite consider myself a nerd, at least not as much as Umino, Artemis is the one I most closely connect with... I'm definitely not the "sexy jerk" type that Mamoru is to begin with, not at all like the arcade owner guy, and not like the consummate lover that Mamoru becomes after season 2...

Yeah... That's pretty much it... Plus, I loved that the gif blinked. It wasn't overpowering like many of the animated gif avatars, but it did enough that it wasn't boring. Another thing was that I loved the idea that my ID was "Bob the duck" and my avatar was a cat... I doing small, innocuous things that still mess with people's minds a little.

I've drawn a dozen potential Avatars, and at my level of skill, they all suck.

I have in various places, used Hagar the Horrible or Bonta-kun (from Full Metal Panic). At Tokyopop, I use Van Von Hunter. Basically, I just use faces I particularly like.

Hagar reflects my Norwegian heritage and my inner child. That's pretty much all there is to it.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May He cause His face to shine upon you.
May He lift up His countenance and grant you peace.

Maokun: Ninjas or Pirates? (Vikings are not a valid answer, sorry)

EricTheFred: Vikings are always a valid answer.

I picked/made my avatar because I think it expresses me well. I wanted a cross, and that one just looked so cool. As for the dancer, that is my biggest passion.

I've always had an avatar with someone with sunglasses on it. Don't ask why. I think I'm going to be keeping with this one for a very long time.

I've used this particular character in an avatar before (previously, it was just because I could), and when I did, I got a truly wacky amount of various guesses as to who it was supposed to be. Guesses ranged from an anime Christopher Robin to a rejected Dr. Seuss character to some crazy, crazy little boy. So I decided to use this particular character again just to see what would happen, here shown with her pet bunnysquirrel, "Ponchi."

It's actually a young Samus from the Japanese e-manga released to promote Metroid: Zero Mission. If you're familiar Metroid, you don't really need to know Japanese to know what's going on... but it is a cute little thing to look at.

My first one came up in a google search for anime and could be made to fit. I only changed it cause I was spending too much time in the avatar caption game. This one is mostly because I couldn't find what I wanted, and partly to stop people who can go to bed if they're that tired from using it being late as an excuse for making less sense than me.

Because Kamille Bidan is my favorite Gundam (or non-Gundam) pilot of all time, and becuase for some reason I am very empathetic towards his tragic love interest, Four.
"Lives are power." - Kamille Bidan
"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" - Christ the Lord (John 11:25-26)

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. - James 1:2-4.

Mine used to be kittens, including a santa kitten for Christmas, but then I thought it more appropriate to choose an anime avatar, considering this is an anime-based website. I tried to find a few, but I stuck with Yuki from Fruits Basket because he's my favorite character (runs from Kyo lovers) and because his name is part of my username. Currently trying to stay with him, since I switch too often. <3

1. I try to not use Anime/Manga avatars... XD because I would rather wear my own. Not to mention there are to many people out there who hate it when people steal their images and I would rather not mess with politics.
2. I want to try to match my user name with my avatars.
3. I like animating cute versions of my mascot ChristianKitsune XD

Because, Ultra Magnus' Wikipedia profile states:

"Ultra Magnus is most comfortable when carrying out orders, and is naturally uncomfortable if the mantle of leadership should ever find itself placed upon him.

In Ultra Magnus's mind, he is a follower, not a commander, and his reluctance to change that will see to it that he expends all options before accepting the idea that he is required to lead."

I really don't like taking charge of a given situation.

I was thumbing through one of my "Calvin & Hobbes" books and found my avatar staring at me in the face. I laughed for a full 5 mins straight and scanned it in.

It just shows how defeated I can feel sometimes, but in the end I can laugh at it.

Wow, I must say I'm really proud of you guys who have chosen your avatars for religious reasons. I myself am not as serious about my faith as you guys are, or as I probably should be. It's kinda like those people who wear religious clothing, and such. :)

As for the avatar I am using, it's just a drawing of my fursona that my friend Stephanie on Furrs Fur Christ did. I think this particular pose reflects my personality perfectly. =D

I'm the biggest FFVII fan in the world. Actually, probably not, but I bet I'm in the top 25. ~__^

Anyway, Tifa is my favorite, but at the time the only notice she got was for fanservice - so I found a pic I liked of Yuffie and have used it every since. I guess her bandana is kind of gypsy-ish.

I've actually changed my avatar since the last time I posted here, so I guess I'll post again. XD

I chose this one because I had just watched Paprika and thought that it was a very neat movie. I also thought that the particular angle of this scene was exceedingly awesome, so I screencapped and cropped it to an avatar, and later made the banner in my signature. Additionally, the character (and the concept of the movie, sort of) also matches my username in a way, though I didn't realize that until after I had decided to crop the avatar. XD

Only had 2 avatars on here.

This current Avatar is one I created in photoshop, reversed a Sailor V manga pic & typed in my name. (was going for a Light in the Darkness kinda thing.)

The first one was a cool one of Serena with white hair.

One of my other, common avatars is a picture of Calvin letting his brain out of his head for a walk.

A long time ago I joined CAA out of mild interest. Seeking an avatar, I chose randomly from image files that were on hand. At the time I had not even played FFVII, but a friend was a huge fan and happened to have given me the Sephiroth concept art along with some other zipped files I needed. I thought it looked cool and made an avatar, changing the eyes to blue because I didn't like the look of green.

At some point it started to become a big deal that I never changed my avatar and now if I did I would attract unwanted attention. So it will likely stay as a random and uninformed choice.

I recently started watching "The Critic". Not only is Jay hilarious, but he's more like me than any other fictional character I've ever seen, sad as it is. Since I refuse to use my real picture, I used the next best thing.
