Love is that feeling you get when a girl looks at you and it feels like your driving a car at high speeds and experience a sudden drop. You know what i mean? That sudden sinking feeling you get in your stomach? Yeah, that's love. Leave's you speechless everytime.

Well, everyone in my family is related to ME, and they all seem to think it's pretty awesome. ;)

Actually, I don't know what cool people I'm related to. Maybe none. Gah.
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

I'm related in a some way to Jefferson Davis. One of my relatives also supposedly caught General Ewell when he was shot off of his horse. I am also related to someone who was on the mayflower. Finally, I am related to some vikings whichi is kind of funny since I am incredibly skinny and have literally no muscle mass whatsoever.

Leann Rhymes is one of my somewhat distant cousins. (I don't really like her music all that much, but...)

I have royalty on both sides of my family, as well. My dad's great-great-grandmother was a Cherokee chief's wife, and my mom's ancestry is probably of British nobility(her maiden name has an official coat of arms).

In distant (as in so many greats I don't want to list em' all) relatives,

My great(who knows how many greats) grandfather is Patrick Henry, one of the firebrands of the Revolutionary war and the man who said "Give me Liberty or give me death!"

Then I have a famous Swedish poet somewhere on my dad's side, and some french nobility on my mom's.

On a more recent note my grandfather is semi-famous. He is in the hall of fame for being a great Football coach and is mentioned in the movie 'Remeber The Titans.'
The great Ed Henry! (They mentioned him quite alot, he was the coach the Titans were worried about and they fought his team in the last game in the movie.)

It seems I'm related to Mitsuki, Destroyer and That Dude. EricTheFred, depending on where your Norski line comes from, you might also be related (via Hrolf Ganger, also known as Rollo the Viking, who sired the line of William the Conquerer). Same goes for Peanut - Viking lines connected to Hrolf Ganger very often intermingle with the rest of European royalty because of William the Conquerer. Your Mayflower descendancy is not unexpected either - I'm a descendant of Mayflower passengers - Edward Fuller and his son Samuel Fuller. I'm also indirectly related to other passengers through early colonial marriages and family in England.

Nice association there, Mithrandir. ;) There has been some speculation among genealogists (I'm my family's genealogist, for anyone who's wondering) that fragmentary records point that direction for a great many people (including me, as a decendant), but nothing has been historically proven. Of course, as a matter of faith, it's been proven for most of the world. ;)

My great-great-great-great-great grandmother was Mary Ludwig Hays McCauley. Haven't heard of her? Try her more recognizable sobriquet of Molly Pitcher, the heroine of the Battle of Monmouth.

You can find details about her (and her associated legends) easily enough on the Internet, so I'll leave you to searching. However, what history often doesn't mention about her is that she was illiterate, smoked a pipe, and could curse up a storm. I think those portions were more liberally passed down through my family... :-)

Hrolf was the ancestor of many of the Norman noble families who came across in the Conquest,which doesn't make it so unusual.I also descend from
Eadnoth The Staller who was the ancestor of the Berkeley family of Barons.
Being descended from Maurice Berkeley and wife Isabel Meade through their daugther Ann and son Thomas.
Oh,and I suppose there are some of us here who can also claim Godiva as an ancestor.I wonder how come no-one has mentioned Godiva yet. :lol:

Other than the family legend, John Singer Sargent (the portrait painter), I'm not sure. We came across the pond fairly recently, I'm trying to track down my ancestors from there, but not having much luck.

Dude! One of our ancestors was the lawyer who beat Patrick Henry in the case where he made his second famous speech.

Something I forgot to mention earlier, another of our ancestors was pretty tight with George Washington.
