what kind of car do you drive?

Talk about anything in here.

I saw a yellow civic with a spoiler by the side of the road today. The license plate read, "Hamatchi." I just about crashed I was laughing so hard.

I drive a 2000 civic, myself. I plan on getting about 200k miles out of it. A friend of mine drives a 70 civic that he bought new. Just changes the oil and a few timing belts.

We drive a 1999 Chevy Silverado Z71, with 4WD. @_@ Big gas-guzzling hunk of metal.

We might be getting a Scion xB (aka a box on wheels) though. :D

IT'S A V8!!!! Of course it's going to have power!
Also, aren't you a bit young to drive?

I have a Subaru Liberty (aka Legacy) 1991, 5 speed, 2.2L boxer engine (although I'd prefer if it was a Boxter boxer engine :P) 16v, SOHC, FWD, etc, etc. It has 100kW and 189Nm which is about comparable to a modern 2.0L engine. It has a surprisingly good torque feel to it for the quoted figure too.

On a related Mitsubishi note, don't you all just love the new Mitsubishi 380 , made in my home town :). It's based on the Galant, but better :thumb: (just come out).

It has one engine choice: 175kW 3.8L V6 :thumb:.
Everywhere like such as, and MOES.

The 305 isnt much compared to a 350. My first car (a rusted out 79 el camino with a 350 pulled out of a wrecked stingray) was pretty good. It got 15 to 18 mpg (it didn't matter much about 3 years ago). And now I drive a 60 thunderbird (see profile) in good weather and a 91 ranger as a beater

Awesome! Someone else who's had an El Camino! I've always had a thing for those crazy cars and i'll probably drive mine until it drives no more. Btw, your thunderbird looked pretty nice. I'd like to post a pic of my car, but I don't have a digital camera. Anyway, about the difference between the 305 and the 350, I'm not too concerned, I'm just glad I could find an El camino.

Sounds pretty cool from the post above.

thanks!

I was fortunate enough to get a new car this summer so I now drive an 05 Ford Focus SES. (Hatchback. Definitely not the wagon.) It was something that I would never really choose for myself but since my parents practically made the decision for me, I made a swift compromise for a moon roof, 6-cd changer, and a sub in the back. (Don't ask me what size because I don't know and I'm too lazy to go measure.) Oh, and of course it's black.

Least favorite thing about it: Automatic. It makes me sad when I can't feel the acceleration of a car. Kinda takes the joy out of speeding.

Favorite thing: The alarm. I know that's weird but I tease people with it all the time. This morning some friends and I were grabbing breakfast in a fast food place and I saw this poor guy sweeping the parking lot (for reasons I will not pretend to understand) so I seized the moment and set off the alarm. He must have jumped back at least three feet. I know it's mean but it's so amusing.
"So David said to Michal, "It was before the LORD, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the LORD. And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight. But as for the maidservants of whom you have spoken, by them I will be held in honor."

Yeah, i was just comparing it to the 350. I think it gets about 190 horse power. Also, about my age, I have my driver's permit, so I can drive with an adult. My parents say it's a good idea to get used to driving my car because goofball teenager + 4,000 pounds = very nervous parents.

I agree. Driving is like anything else: practice makes perfect. The more you drive your car the better feel you'll get for how it stops, turns, and accelerates. Here are a few tips:

1. Have your parents with you so you can learn from their experience.
2. Be be smooth and gentle on all your steering, braking, throttle, and shifting inputs. This will give you the best chance of mainitaing control.
3. Pay attention to be, to be mindful of what's happening on the road ahead of you.
4. Sit in an upright position where you can easily work the controls yet still be comfortable. Avoid the classic "laid back" positon.
5. Finally, stay calm and don't get nervous.

Since you've got a rwd car with no driving aides, (like traction or stablity control) you have the opportunity to develop better car control than if you were driving a new fwd car.

The El-Camino has alot of aftermarket parts so you can do alot with it to have fun. My advice is to keep it in good shape, and when it's time to buy something else, keep it so you can fix it up when you're older and have the money.

I always loved the chatanuga front end (sp?) aftermarket part you could get. Also if you like camaros you can get a iroc front end and iroc bumper (turns the tailights into vetish looking lights)
