But the point is that those could have been the end times but they weren't so you are prophesying without any proof.

Hmm... what to say that hasn't already been said...
Well when I was younger I used to always watch JVIM and constantly feared what the future held. What if I never grew old, never got married, never had kids, never experienced what live has to offer.

I agree, Christ says we need to be aware of end times and what's going around us in the world, but at the same time He tells us not to worry about what tomorrow may hold:

Matthew 6:31-35
So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

The end times has been dicussed for a long time. One was the turn of the first century 100AD. People believed heavily that the coming of the Lord was near because of increased natural disasters etc.. Then for the past 7 yrs more and more. Kind of goes in cycles. The end times is a bit iffy topic. I've done a lot of looking into this topic since I was in 8th grade. THere are people who do a lot of research... much more then I do, some believe in a pre-tribulation rapture others don't. Theories keep changing because people realize new stuff or things they looked over. From my years of watching Jack Van Impe, he has changed his opinion many many times. Trust me, I've watched his shows for many years unitl a year or so ago. Do I disagree in what he does, certainly not. I believe in what he's doing and spreading the Word and love of Christ. But at the same time it shows us that humans don't know everything. We can assume or make predictions all we want or wait for the end to come, but in the end only Christ Knows.

I'll continue to live my life day by day and not live in fear or anxiety like my father does. Life is short in comparison then the enternity we'll spend in heaven so why spend it worring? With the Lord in our lives, I don't need to worry about what tomorrow holds.

Hmm... just thought of something. I forget exactly where the verse is (one of the Thessalonian letters, maybe?) but it mentions how we'll be taken to heaven "in the twinkling of an eye."

The twinkling of an eye has been defined as the time that it takes for a beam of light to travel from the cornea (front of the eye) to the retina (back of the eye). The eye itself, as a rough estimate, is about an inch in diameter. Light travels 186000 miles per second. How long does it take light to travel through the eye?

That's how fast we'll be taken home when the time comes. :)
