While it's interesting, considering my family was once Irish nobility in what is now County Cork, and I joined the Army to boot...the main significance for me is that it's my dad's and my grandfather's middle name as well.

The one way to determine a name is to get a book with baby names.
It will give the spelling and definition of names that parents can give the child when they are born.
I sometimes wish I could find a book on names for different countries to find out what a person's name means in their language. I have a Japanese translation dictionary, also German and Latin but I am unsure if they help.
