I feel I should elaborate a bit more.
I started out on a LiveJournal. There, I posted about my life. That got boring fast. Then I started writing about stuff. Then I moved over to Blogger, since they had better control over design and posting and templating. Eventually, Blogger got too annoying to update with all of those pages being published. I decided to pay for a host with a bunch of my friends and get a domain name. I share hosting with my friends. We pay about $20 a year per person. I bought a domain name for about $7. So in total, for about $30, I host my own blog.
Since I'm actually shelling out cash for this thing, it kind of had an effect on me that forced me to start writing better so that it would be worth that $30. And once again, http://www.blkmage.net/
If you really want to see how my writing's changed, you can check out the archives. I have stuff imported from my livejournal and blogger. Some stuff might not work. Here's my livejournal for comparison: http://www.livejournal.com/~blkmage/
