My article on fornication

Talk about anything in here.

Wow. Just...wow.

What Mr. SmartyPants wrote is fine. You're attacking an innocent article that a kid wrote with good intentions. It sounds to me like you're just looking for a reason to argue. Right back at you, Kimura. Nice try.

It also says in the bible "thou shall not kill"...yet killing is done in the name of God and freedom everyday.

ya know, Killing in the Name of God isn't exactally the right thing, Cause God doesn't want for people to die, you know.

I would have liked to see you write an article (By quoting the bible of course...) in which you say Bush is goin to hell and all gay people will join him.

does bush repent? repentance is key, Bush has (or he believes) that he has a good reason for going into a war. I don't know wether i fully support the war or not. But we cannot judge who will be in heaven and who will be in Hell. That is for God to decide. Bush is a Christian, (methodist) and God will judge wether he will go to heaven or nto

as for homosexuals, same thing, God is merciful. Now homosexuality is not something you can't escape from, take Volt for example.

The Bible is true, and fundamentalist may be right, then again, they also may be wrong. Its a matter of faith for somebody to decide

example, im not so sure if Noah really did live for, like, a thousand years (not exactally sure) but I do believe that he did what he did

there may be a "contradiction" in the bible, but if you take the time to research it, there are NO contradictions in it.

SmartyPants, no sweat. I think you did a great job with that article. :thumb: Obviously not everyone is going to agree with you and you may face some opposition. It's fine to further discuss this but you may want to consider the intentions of your opponent.

God's "foolishness" is way higher than the wisdom of all men. We're also doing this to please God, not men. So good job and be encouragede! ^_^

If you do not believe in the Bible, then yes, there is no reason you should let the Bible prohibit you from having premarital sex. However, if you are attempting to mold your life to the Word, then it is hard to ignore its statements on sexual morality. I will also note that using biblical arguments for a biblical audience (such as the one to which this article was directed) is entirely appropriate.

Writing these mandates off as part of the Old Covenant is unfeasible because Jesus actually intensified laws regarding sexual morality instead of abolishing them. He extends the prohibition against adultery to include lust and condemns divorce as an unfortunate concession made to a people that were not mature enough to appreciate the full value of marriage. Times changed, alright, but the laws got harder, not softer.

What I'm really saying is, interpretation is important, but perhaps what we should be doing is not trying to worm our way out of a law but figuring out why this law was made and what values it protects.

The trolls bring out an important point. It's not what they say, but how they attack. Prepare yourselves, my brothers and sisters. The world will attack us. SOme will be foolish and childish, but some will be clever and well reasoned. The only defense is knowledge. Know the words of our Lord and the teachings of His disciples. Then the truth will be yours and it will not be shaken. Well done again, Mr SmartyPants. You have the makes of a grand apologist in you. Keep up your studies.

There are a great number of intelligent points being made, but I would caution us to a certain degree against fighting the shadows. In that the person involved was a troll, our effect on them will be minimal if even existant, and they may not even visit this thread again after causing their initial trouble.

Great article. I'm sorry it took me so long to read it. ^_^

The choice has been made. There's no looking back. I won't let up, back up, give up, or shut up. My focus clear. My path is straight. My God, reliable. I'm a disciple of Christ.

Gods plan is like the sun. its too big and bright to look at directly, and sometimes the rain clouds cover it, but sometimes the plan dapples through the clouds and we can see beautiful glimpses of what he has in store for us.

Yay! This makes me excited, and I can't imagine why except that it must be that God is really working through you!

That is a great article. I went to a Catholic school for junior high and I can definitely attest that just because they go to a Christian school doesn't mean everybody there is "Christian."

I really appreciate this article. Don't guys know that girls like guys who respect girls? :eh:

Excellent article, Mr SP.

Very well written, and very true. I'm going to go ahead and repeat what other girls have said above me: I know that I personally and other girls I know appreciate respect a lot more than descriptions like 'sexy' and 'hot.' - I suppose in many ways those adjectives treat women more as an object than someone with a mind and value outside their appearance.

So a good point and congratulations on getting it published!

Hentai has noticably perverted my views of women and it's hard to stop thinking of them as objects. God is working in my life to help me through that. Porn does influence our thoughts and portrays women as objects and if you expose yourself to porn you'll start to think of them in that way too. I'm struggling against it and this sort of article helps me see why it's wrong, but only because ive got an open mind.

Great article Mr. Smartypants. :) People need to open their hearts up and let God speak to them whatever they do. I think that's the most important thing. Keep an open heart and mind in all things. When you do that God can speak to you. :)

That is why it is acceptable and perhaps wise to respond to the questions that have been raised. However, I was speaking about continuing to address a position that has never been responded to.
