Hah name one mini-sam

I have gerbils also but there supposed to be both boys but I swear mine ain't it keeps getting fatter everyday.......do you suppose? lol
well g/l on the gerbils!!!
can't wait to see what they look like

Oh, and Jman. You can't tell that the gerbil is pregnant, until three days before she gives birth. :sweat:

But, thats funny. Cause my cousin Trinitron, she got two 'Boys' and they ended up having little baby gerbils.

Me and Kinkosami told them that they were a boy and girl. So they just decided to wait and see, and we were right! :grin:

Okay, seriously, how do you know that she's pregnant?

You stated yourself that you won't know for sure until three days before she gives birth. But, there must have been some sort of clue that made you suspect her to be pregnant. A change in behavior or diet, perhaps? I'm just curious (especially because Kinko mentioned the due date, she must know the gestation period of gerbils).

Good question Kae.

Well, we really don't know if she is. But, after 'you know what' it is for sure that she will have babies.

Lets, say I notice she is fat, but then the next day she is not, and there are no babies! What happen, well. If they have two or less babies they usually eat them, cause they don't want to waste there time with just one or two babies, and if one is sick, they eat it.

There is no change of diet, at least not that I notice. If there is, then it is probably not much of a change. But it is pretty good to give the mother some Yogurt drops, it's almost like candy, they like em'. ]sure [/I] until at least three days before her giving birth.

And they only do 'you know what' when the girl is in the time she is able to hold babies, so usually it works. Unless the guy has something wrong with em'. :sweat:

So, to really answer your question, I will never be sure.

XD You're keeping all of them, right? How will you manage? All those little bundles of hair... once it grows up, at least. I belive they're pink and hairless when they're first born.

XDD Yeah... My grandmother used to own about.. 20 hamsters/gerbils... Some of them were nice.. The ones that were mean were scary... O.O

I used to have 26 in one room, it was pretty hard to get to sleep! :sweat:

But, yes. They are pink and hairless, when they are born. Only for like a couple days or so. There skin darkens a bit too.

And they start getting real fur like, a week or so..

THERE SO CUTE!! They feel like peaches when they just start to get fur. :grin:

[EDIT: Like the first week, you can see the milk in there stomach. Like after they eat you can see little white spots where there little tummies are. :grin:

I am probably going to name one Youko, cause there is a chance that there is going to be a silvery looking one! Cause you know, Zane is silvery gray.

Saphire & Zane are so cute. How old are they? I had Gerbils when I was little they were so fun. We thought that we had a boy and girl but it turned out that they were both girls.
