What kinda hobbies do you have?

Postby firestorm » Sat Aug 25, 2007 10:36 pm

hey guys just had a family night at my house. We danced, we had lasagna, and we watched Wild Hogs. Anyways, I was just thinking about when we were dancing, and i was wondering what kinda hobbies do you guys have?

I personally dance Salsa and Merengue, which are spanish dances we dance down here in miami. I'm actually taking classes too. Its really fun and there are alot of moves that are clean that you can dance to. (you just gotta know where to look to learn them though of course.) I also like to draw, sing, and write. I play Maple Story online when I'm bored and I like to chat in this christian anime place called CAA. The people are really cool there. lol.

Anyways enough about me how about you guys. what do you do?
Come check my facebook fan page here If you want to see some great photography and art!

I am currently on my 4th draft of the script for Canvas! Canvas is a watercolor animated short about how everything declares of a Creator and how everything happens for a reason. If anyone would like to help by sending me resources on watercolor or animation it would be greatly appreciated!

I am also on my 1st draft of a short live-action Romcom called "Behind Every Good Man! Behind Every Good Man is about a Bride-to-be, Evelyn, who must stop her Mother-in-Law, Pamela, from living her dream wedding through Evelyn's. Along the way she learns what it means to be a Woman of Integrity today! If anyone wants to help let me know!

I love to draw and also love to sing on the side. I'm kind of hoping my art will become important to my career in the future, but singing is just something I do for intrinsic value (not that art isn't, it's just different XD).

I love everything that has to do with art almost to the point of being a little manic about it. I love drawing manga, writing, music and messing around with an RPG Maker called RMXP. In music, I play typical instruments: guitar, drums, bass and I try my best at singing. I used to play the trumpet and I doodle on the piano sometimes.

I don't dance, though. I think that's cool that you dance. :3

I like to go shooting, draw some, sing when no-one can hear me, play guitar, bass, and piano, play the odd video game, look at amusingly captioned pictures of cats [lol, cats], dream about cars I will never be able to afford, and one day I'd like to learn how to waltz better and swing dance worth a fig. I'd also like to start learning to make chainmail, throw knives or shuriken or or something pointy and metal and take up Brazilian Jiu-jitsu [yes, the proper Japanese spelling would be jutsu, but that's how they spell it] and kickboxing.

Gaming with friends, as well as miniatures painting (e.g. http://www.rackham-store.com/boutique/liste_rayons.cfm). Obviously, I also like to read.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

I also LOVE acting in plays. I prefer musicals (as I said earlier, I do love to sing XD), but I enjoy it either way. XD

Cosplay is my #1 hobby, easily. I used to be casually into it before I got invited into a handful of cosplay groups, so now it takes up a lot of my time. ^_^ I've learned a lot and made a lot of friends, and I'm really happy to devote time to my costumes.

Among other things, I also collect Asian ball-jointed dolls and anime figures, write, take pictures, dabble in making graphics and websites, and role-play. And if ranting on LJ is a hobby, then yeah, I do that too.

Gaming is my number one hobby, though I probably spend less time on it than I used to. I enjoy music, writing, and I dabble with game design.

I'm currently taking acting classes as I'm going to make acting my main career.

Writing, composing music, drawing... heh, if I had enough free time, I could do my own anime!

Fishing, also, but only on vacation, when I head up to Colorado or such. There's no decent fishing for non-boat-owners in the Dallas area.

Wow!!! so many wonderful artists and musicians (and just greate hobbies in general) here. You guys encourage me so just by knowing that there are so many of you here that share the same passion for the Lord and our hobbies lol. I was actually a little down when i wrote this but I feel alot better now.

P.S. Sorry if it seems like I'm having A.D.D here. Its just that there are alot of interesting hobbies here, and I had questions for a couple of them, so that's why it may seem like i'm skipping between them. Sorry.

P.S.S If you don't see a comment from me about yours don't worry I'm trying my best, but right now its 3:00 A.M. and i have to sleep. Gots work tommorrow in the Morning. Also, here is a link to a vid on youtube of a Special type of organized dance Salsa called Rueda.

Salsa Rueda

Now the people you see here are probably either professionals or students of some studio, but that's basically what Rueda is. Usually where u see this being done is at 15 year old's quince (kind of a hispanic equivalent to a sweet 16's). It's danced with about 9-11 of here closest friends (she herself is included in the dance making it an even 10-12 dancers or about 5-6 couples minimum). It was really hard to find some just 1 couple dancing but then I found this and I was like YESSSS!!!!!! NOW I CAN SHOW MY FRIEEENNDSS!!!! See how much love I got for you all. ^-^ lol I'm sorry but I just have alot of fun with Ruedas so I like them alot.

Now back on to your regularly scheduled program.

Lol, Thanks. Oh, and most of the stuff I draw is manga too lol. Is the RPG Maker hard to use? I've never tried it myself. Is there a link for it?

As far as Salsa, well it's actually really easy once you get the rythym down. I have a link up on the top of my post here that has a vid of people dancing a special type of group salsa If you wanna check it out. It's fun.

My biggest hobby is photography. I like taking nature and landscapes, mostly. I've also been trying to learn a little street photography. I have pictures at http://www.jimrogers.info. :-p

My other hobbies are writing, bass guitar, and music. I don't listen to a lot of mainstream stuff. I list to bands that not everyone listens to - stuff that's more unique.

I have also been learning Japanese for the last two years or so. I hope to be a missionary of some sort in Japan one day.

I also fix computers and do a little web design.

cool, just make sure you know how much draw weight you can pull don't want to strain your self when pulling and also don't want to have it to light either. Bass Pro Shop or any archery store should have some employees that can help you out

Also you want to find something of a wrist guard to protect your forearm when you let go of the string. That is a must!!! My coach back in elementary tried to use my brothers bow one time and he didn't have a wrist guard and the string sliced the skin at the midpoint of his forearm to his wrist clean off. yea it's that important.

Oh by the way you would probably wanna check these out

I don't really have hobbies so much as I would label them as obsessions.

I used to do a lot of writing, and I would love to get back into it.
I play video games but I don't like to label that as a hobby.
I do a lot of reading too, and I like to collect various items if I find them either very cute or very unique.

And the internet. I spend quite a bit of time on the internet. And I love art. I don't draw, but everyone says I have an eye for it.

Oh, and there's that thing. I think it's called Anime. XD

Anyway, another hobby of mine is collecting clocks--digital, mechanical, you name it. I only have a few, but I love 'em all! My favorite is this cool mechanical flip-clock with these rubber robotic feet. There's only a few of them around, and when I checked ebay, it was going for about $50...I got mine for $14 when Spencers Gifts closed in the mall!

lol, dont be sorry. i'll either build them from scratch or improve on what i have. it isnt to expensive.. especially that i do it mostly for other ppl, they spend the money, i dont. and depending on the situation, ill walk away with $50-$150 per compy i built. i do upgrade my computer every once in a while, but with WoW not needing to much from my computer, i have no reason to upgrade.

-John Piper

"The very One from Whom we need to be saved, is the One Who has saved us."
- R.C. Sproul

"All of Christian life is ceaseless worship of God the Father, through the mediatorship of God the Son, by the indwelling power of God the Spirit, doing what God commands in Scripture, not doing what God forbids in Scripture, in culturally contextualized ways, for the furtherance of the Gospel, when both gathered for adoration, and scattered for action, in joyous response to God's glorious grace."
- Mark Driscoll

"Believers do not pray with the view of informing God about things unknown to Him, or of exciting Him to do His duty, or of urging Him as though He were reluctant. On the contrary, they pray in order that they may arouse themselves to seek Him, that they may exercise their faith in meditating on His promises, that they may relieve themselves from their anxieties by pouring them into His bosom; in a word, that they may declare that from Him alone they hope and expect, both for themselves and for others, all good things."
- Martin Luther

"I have to tell you first that I am ready to die. I have put my affairs in order. Your supreme weapon is killing. My supreme weapon is dying, because when you kill me, people all over Romania will read my books and believe on the God that I preach - even more than they do now."
- Dr. Joseph Ton, the exiled Romanian pastor (quoted by James Montgomery Boice)

"The best prayer I ever prayed had enough sin in it to condemn the whole world."
- John Bunyan

"If the Christian has lost sight of Calvary, that shows that he has lost his way."
- J.I. Packer[/SIZE]
